Tektronix AFG 31000 hack ?
« on: August 28, 2020, 06:59:41 am »

As key-based options & bandwidth upgrades are available, just wanted to know if anyone had started looking into this ??

BW upgrade from 25 -> 100MHz available, as well as from 150 -> 250 MHz, would suspect that 150 Mhz h/w is different.
FW is compressed, not encrypted (at least not completely), already something positive...  >:D

Hello Darkstar

You are correct two bandwith hardware limits, I have a 150mhz version so I to would be intetested in any software upgrades availability

The FW uses signed software package.

Any change to a FW package requires an inside access to the machine to bypass the signature verification.

This whole idea of designing in features and then requiring a "key" to unlock them just rubs me the wrong way.   Even more so if it is something like a bandwidth increase which means the hardware was always there.
