Hi everybody.
I have observed that in my Tektronix MSO/MDO scope, reading digital channels through Visa is about 15 times slower on digital channels than it is on analog channels.
It doesnt matter whether I select ascii or binary. (BTW, is there a true binary format?).
It is interesting that reading is about 15 times slower, having 16 digital channels. No idea if this is connected to the problem.
Of course the deeper the capture the slower ( it can take about 50 seconds to read a digital channel using 10MB depth buffer; using USB2; using Ethernet is slower).
I use the command "Curve?" to read the data.
My first question is for anyone having experience with Tektronix: is there any plausible reason that could explain why digital channel reading is so slow ?
Second question: do you have/had a similar experience using your own Tek scope?
Third question, and final: anyone of you using any other brand.. have any experience on this subject ?
