Hameg HM8130 DAC improvement?
« on: June 24, 2021, 08:55:18 pm »
Hi everyone,

I own two Hameg HM8130's and noticed a difference in the DAC's that have been used. I assume these DAC's "generates" the actual signal.
The oldest has a Raytheon TDC1041R3C1 (10-bit, 20MSa/s) and the newest has a AD9731BR (10-bit, 170MSa/s).

Will it be a (big) improvement if I replace the TDC1041 for a AD9731? Any thoughts on that?
I can't find any Hameg documentation on the AD9731 version, but I can do some reverse engineering, if needed.

Best regards,

Rob.
