BSIDE BTM01 thermcouple meter

Would like some opinions on this thing.
Only looking for something simple for 1/ setting temperature of soldering iron tip 2/ measuring air conditioner outlet temps. Described as 2-channel but obviously it's not, with only 1 connector. Also, what is the thing next to the connector? An ambient temp sensor?

It looks like 1sensor is internal to the unit.

Yes it says right there that it will display ambient temperature when there is no thermocouple plugged in.
