Tektronix Raptor (TDS3000) Prototypes
« on: September 29, 2024, 03:46:34 am »
I'm curious if anyone here ended up purchasing one of the Tektronix Raptor prototype units that were auctioned off in 2018? My notes indicate it may have been part of the Stratos Product Development liquidation, but it's been a while. I was hoping to see a teardown of the unit but didn't want to pay the price of admission at the time.

Do you have any photos from that auction you can share? Curious how they looks

Here are the photos I saved from the reseller on eBay. The item was originally listed as part of the Stratos Product Development asset liquidation auction.
Notable differences (aside from the obvious labels) that I see from comparison with a TDS3054:
  • Chassis plastic is smooth, not textured
  • Battery door cover does not have CAT rating, battery pack model #, or patent information
  • Battery door lists power rating as 30 Watts max (as opposed to 75 Watts max)
  • Battery door cover design is slightly different
  • No DC port
  • Not the DPO boot screen

It's just not the same without the Corporate Memphis splash screen!

Probably seller cleaning it up for presentation without bothering to dry it off.
