Tektronix TDS3012B vs TDS3012B-NV

I see the ads and can't find the difference Googling and wonder if NV means non-volatile RAM.  If so does a scope without the NV designation lose memory and if so how to get it back if lost and how not to lose it

Those were made under contract for the US military.

Just found this on an eBay ad:
"The TDS3012B-NV is basically the same as the TDS3012C but without the USB port and having the Floppy drive."
Can anyone confirm this as fact as Tek.comhas no info on the NV model.

I've seen the NV postfix on other Tek scopes for sale on ebay such as TDS5054-NV etc. Sometimes the spec is nobbled for certain countries such as reduced sample rate from 5 Gs/s to 1Gs/s to meet the trade requirements of certain countries.  Otherwise they appear to be scopes made to order for military and gov etc.
