I'll soon be owner of a Tek TDS5000 oscilloscope with the built in thermal printer. I've been using TDS5000 series scopes for many years but never encountered one with the built in printer option.
Does anyone know what size paper this thing takes? 110mm?
I believe the printer is Tek part number 655-4920-xx and a single roll of paper is Tek 016-1897-xx, not much more info available on these.
Yes, the printer takes 110mm paper. Mine came with a 40mm OD roll, but 50mm might just barely fit.
Thanks for the info. I've got a few paper rolls on order and will test it out this week.
If it works I'll likely remove it and offer it for sale. Perhaps there are some TDS5000(B) owners out there who would be interested.
Can you make a full picture of the oscilloscope to get a better impression where the thermal printer is located in the oscilloscope?
It's on the top, see attached.
normally the roller is the giveaway for the paper width ...
110mm width is kind of unusual, not usually something office supply stores keep in stock in the US.
I've ordered these thermal paper rolls, 110mm wide, 7m length, 30mm OD.

The cheap 110mm paper rolls I found on Amazon work just fine with this printer.
