Tektronix TL721 power supply
« on: October 18, 2019, 07:42:12 am »
I get my new toy before 2 days - TLA721 main frame.
Yesterday I install new hdd and install WinXp with TLA V.5.1 (wait for TLA7AA4 plugin to clear the customs here in Bulgaria and to install it for testing).
The pc board lose the bios settings every time and I open the controller to exchange the battery. Find that the battery holder is desoldered - fix it and reassemble all.
I plug the main power cord and something explode inside. I dissasemply the power supply and find a fried NTC inside it. Measure it - 29 Ohms but want to exhange it befor to close the power supply and to test it again. I try to find some schematic for this power supply, but I can't.
Want to ask if someone have the same problems with this unit and what NTC is the right. Maybe it is not 29ohms because it is bad now.
There I find some Rifa Y caps that will exchange all too befor to use it.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

EDIT: All done - it is 15ohm / 4A NTC. Work fine now.

What if you unsolder the NTC? Perhaps the value is printed on the other side.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

I do it. Have some glue on it and I can't read anything, but try to remove very carefully the glue and find it - 15SP016.
