The Nimrods were never nice nor new nor shiny.
When first built in the 1970s, some bright spark decided to base them on the far too small 1950s Comet airframe. It was all downhill after that.

In 2011 there was a fleet of new Nimrods that were dismantled and destroyed before they had even flown, as part of the fore mentioned cuts this BBC clip relates to that tremendous waste of money.

I am aware of that. It does not change my points.

No, I don't suppose it will because thats your view, I was stating that there was some brand new ones that were destroyed before they had even been flown

If you think that’s shocking, the poor NHS disposed of about 2000 PCs last year which didn’t even leave the suppliers. Basically just handed over the money for them. Then the suppliers charged them storage and disposal.
Going to ML&S today. That’s dangerous. Got my eye on one of these:

Nice don't forget to go to the cash point before arriving.

Just a quick update on the RS calibration of 3478A meter (if you're all bored by it now :palm:) but I now have a date for its return, it will be dispatched on the 10th May so if they follow normal procedure, I should have it on the 11th Friday, if that happens then I rank that as first class considering we have had a bank holiday in that time as well.
