Test Equipment Anonymous (TEA) group therapy thread

Yep, thats very true, some boroughs seem to be rammed with tower blocks, dreadful things.

Ok, here it is, the pron nakedness that we all love to see. This one was made in 1988, so shes 30 years old but doesn't show it, shes worn well. These photos do not really show how bad the VFD really is, its readable most in the slowest update mode, the fastest update and they don't get proper time to light up properly before they change so thats a priority is to locate a suitable panel for it.
I've attempted to clean it up yet so your seeing her in all of her filth and as you can see from the random tests I've done using my voltage and current calibrators it really is good enough to use as it is without any further calibration being required so from the angle I scooped a bargain here especially as it was originally listed as £150 but because the seller was unable to power it up for me or post any pictures of it powered up, bartered them down on the strength that it could be as far as either of us knew, dead. The not calibrated sticker was another bargaining chip for me to use and with the cost of having to get it calibrated before it could be used and the readings taken as being correct, helped me to get it right down to just £35 in the end. So it turned out to be a good Sunday afternoon trip into London to exchange the queens notes for this little beauty.
Interesting note here is that I have heard Dave and others go on about the red silk screening on the green solder mask, but mine is yellow on green so they must have changed something I guess and the colour denotes which version is which?
This meter can also be self calibrated according to the manual, so thats an advantage, so now I'm on the look out for 09 option (the AC card) and the display panel.

Nice one. That's in pretty good nick that. Definitely worth the cash!
Thanks for the excellent photos as always :)

I think it will clean up nicely, very pleased with it, just wish I could nab bargains more often. Looking forward now to finally seeing the 3390B for the first time and getting to play with what I hope will be the best of both worlds, analogue and digital in one package. Its going to be a long learning curve on the digital side I think, reading the manual there's heaps that thing can do that I couldn't hope to do with just an analogue, all the maths functions as well. But somehow I really doubt that I'll use but a fraction of its true capabilities but its nice to have the ability to do so if the need arises. :-+

Excellent score! :-+ I think we should have a "Score of the month" contest. This one certainly qualifies. But what should be the prize? :-//
