Guys ... how much is a good shaped, working fine Agilent 34401A worth for you ? Say easy, local pickup price, so no shipping cost. :palm:
Upper limit ? Sweet spot ? Lower limit that you would not think twice with above conditions ?

Guys ... any hint please ?

I'd pay £300 (GBP) for one.

Ok, thanks, and this DMM price still relatively high isn't it ?

May to look out for another cheap linear supply, that hum is driving me mad.

I have had a fair few bad experiences with cheap SMPS supplies.
We have some Blanko brand ones at work:
One of them we killed 2 minutes after powering it on by putting a ampmeter across the output and slowly cranking it up to see if it actually can give the specified 10A. We got to about 7A before it suddenly turned off and would never power on again so we returned it.
Next one we got worked fine and could give 10A without blowing up, but after 3 months of being plugged in it suddenly caught fire inside, upon inspection the mains EMI filter capacitor was all chard black.
Another one we used in the lab to run some heavy load while i was doing some EMI testing on the other side of the room. When a coworker turned on the Blanko piece of crap i suddenly had my spectrum analyzer start making a angry beeping sound signaling that its mixer is overloaded.
I would not own this piece of shit even if i was given one for free :palm:

Yes. Last DMM they made before OLED crap started appearing at the high end.
