After a thunderstorm on Wednesday night, yesterday started off with (relatively) cool temperatures and an overcast sky. It seemed perfect for placing my GPS antenna and routing the cable. However, as soon as I commenced my undertaking, the sky cleared and temperatures soared.

But I persevered, and after 7 hours of hard work and profuse sweating, the antenna has found a sheltered place, with the cable reaching my lab. The cable is only tentatively fixed yet, as I don't have clamps of the right size. Anyway, after half an hour, the True Position board claims to 'see' 8 satellites and reports 'locked'.
Now I will have to change one of the controller boards and write some software for it. (These boards were beta PCBs of our industrial controller. Picture them as microcontroller evaluation boards. I use them instead of an Arduino.)
