Well if it passes the inspection, it must be good  ;) What is it with cats and things in plastic bags, my 2 cats are the same, have to inspect anything in a plastic bag and they love to lick them all the time  :-DD

The resident stepdaughter has 2 cats that lick everything.  They also like to chew the cables on her wall warts. :-DD  One of my dogs likes to lick the tile floors in the house and the concrete floor in my office.  NFI why he does that.  Pets can be funny sometime, other times, not so much. |O

Personally I hate cats and don't want one. They're other people's problems and shall remain that way.

I agree.  I don't like them either.  I tolerate the 2 in the house.  One of her cats sheds more than both my dogs together.  Add the hairballs and cat puke and the fact that her and her husband haven't yet caught onto the fact that litterboxes need to be cleaned every day, makes things that much more pleasant.  Can't wait for them to get their life together, move out and take the cats with them.
In that case they can be unpleasant I agree but it's not difficult to train them to be clean or that hard to clean the cat litter tray at least daily. Cats are normally very clean animals and are fussy about there own cleanliness and appearance.

Mrs GreyWoolfe and I agree, at this point, it is pretty much impossible to train the stepdaughter and husband.  Even a rolled up newspaper to the nose and the squirt bottle with water has no noticeable effect.  I do understand that cats are clean animals but I don't really appreciate them licking their nether zones on the dining room table.  That is a bit disturbing.

A few stern words is enough to discourage them from getting on the table in the first place I find. Of course you daughter and son in law might be harder to train [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]

Yes, it's been an unusually warm and humid Summer. Yes, I've been running the A/C a lot. But damn, the electric bill is almost double what I normally pay. Ouch!  :o :scared:

I live in Houston. There are about 2 weeks out of the year when we don't need the AC to be able to breathe. Those 2 weeks require heat, which is usually also electric.

That was in those 2 weeks a year, you was so unlucky to have chosen that time to visit Houston. :palm:

Don't like dogs either. This came from my mother's whippet which I watched scoot around the living room carpet and left a tapeworm behind.

Fine with some horses. Proper ones. Used to ride a lot.

Once, when I went to Dallas, it was sweltering heat on arrival. Then, a huge thunderstorm overnight. Sunrise revealed...snow. :o

Had a spectacular hamfest day, if not a little short. Get ready gentleman, what is below and what is to come will knock your socks off!
Not in any particular order,
Random transformer, guy wanted 5 and i paid 5 and got a couple of audio adapters with it for free. 230V in two center tapped windings and two regular 220-0-220 188 220-0-220 188.
Heathkit IB-5281, same nice old guy who had the VTVMs, he wanted 35 but i talked with him a bit and complemented his work and for my kindness he dropped the price to 25, though all i had left in my wallet was 23 so he took that.
HP 1654B, guy wanted 50 i paid 20. Has a blown cap in the power supply though it comes with os disk and probes.
HP 8405A, guy wanted nothing except to be rid of it. "50! 25! 10! 5!",i start to walk away, "Fine, take it! Get it off my hands and its yours free of charge!"
B&K, guy wanted 50 but when i pointed out it only had two adapters he let me have it for 10.
Hickok 539A, guy wanted 250, i offered him 50, he countered at 150, i offered 70, he countered at 100. I took it but i made him give me a knob he was selling for 5 bucks free. I'm a cheap fuck and i love to win.  >:D
Detailed pics to come later, stay tuned.

I've got one off those silly "dude ranches" just down the road where city folk get the opportunity to pay enormous sums to ride an old nag. When the wind is right I get to smell the stables and horseshit for free.

I was dragged up in Epsom, home of the Derby (not the US upstart) and many many stables and thoroughbreds.

On the way to school I used to see them riding some very twitchy and expensive "nags" along the backroads on the way to their exercise. Sometimes they rematerialised 6ft to the right of where they were half a second earlier, presumably because they were startled by a leaf fluttering somewhere in their field of vision.

Later, much later, I saw a dog team waiting for their exercuse pulling a sled; I didn't want to go anywhere them. But, after their run, they were delightfully friendly and playful. I wonder if the thoroughbreds were like that.

I see you stopped by my friend Pat WA6MHZ's stall....
I spent yesterday morning over at his place cleaning up the haul of gear he brought.
I was suppose to be there, however Murphy gave me the middle finger and I didn't make it.
