My Bios offers me with 3 choices, power saving, normal / quiet, performance and I have left it in the normal / quiet setting which is where it has been since I built the rig 4 years ago. I really like it but just wish that Windoze was a little more tolerant in its backward compatibility with programs written to run on Win 7 and above

My Media PC is built with the following:

Case: Rosewill FBM-02 MicroATX Mini Tower
Motherboard: MSI A78M-E35-AMD A78 Chipset FM2 + MicroATX
Processor: AMD A10-7850K APU 3.7GHz Quad Core.
Video card: MSI NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 2GB

It has several fans in it (don't know what kind) but I never hear any of them running. I suspect there's several reasons for this. First, the tower is on the floor and not the bench. Second, I don't game. Third, I don't render video. Just stream video like Netflix or Prime. It also has an extensive music library of wav files and it's connected into my audio system. In all in all it probably just loafs along not generating a lot of heat. So the fans remain on low or probably even off. Maybe I should load it up with something heavy and see what happens.  ;D

Not Displaying any Prejudice today fairly much one of every kind ;D New toy seems happy (untweaked in the photos) from down low to over 1GHz and will eventually get a fixed feed from the GPSDO when they get bundled together.

Edit: Now holding 10000.000 kHz (untweaked by me) and very occasionally flicking a 1 LSD after an hour. Clearly it was  :-/O by it's former owner even with an average internal Osc :-+

That's pretty much the same useage as mine except that I do some gaming but not the latest games but what games I do play are normally in the very highest settings 1080 or higher. I can just about hear my fans but before I went over to water cooling I could hear the cpu fan ramp up at times but these days the noise level always very low,  so low in fact that I can the very faint hum generated by the power supply in my counter keeping it's battery topped up, above the fan noise. No one else in my family it seems can that hum.

Decided to expand the shelving and bench space in the workshop today.

I had to setup a temporary bench to put my repair queue some time ago.

Completely fixed that situation today by adding a metal bench supporting 900Kg and metal shelves supporting 350Kg each.

This is on top of 3 other benchs I have in the workshop. I should have enough space for a while now, or … maybe not  :-DD

Funny, I did reorganization as well. Mainly to make room for a large and heavy new bit of TEA that's coming tomorrow...  :-+

Hoping to move to a bigger house in a few months so I can have more space to spread out, then fill with test equipment. :-DD

Much nicer on the inside than the grubby outside ;) Looks like the cells haven't leaked which is a good thing too  :-+

I reckon I can find a space for it on the rack  ;D

There is a a potentially fairly nasty Mercury button cell in there too somewhere so be a little careful if you find it and it has leaked. My 740B had two I have done some modern trickery to replace with floating references as they are unobtainium these days.

Shipping will be what it is so I won't be put off by it  :palm:

As you all know I just did a major bench expansion last month and already I feel like I'm running out of space. It seems like stuff just appears out of thin air.  ;D And I've got no room for any additional expansion unless I move but that ain't happening.  :scared:

Theres so much room still around that bench, you gotta think modular, compartmental cubbies

Probably put "Out of Service" because the place he got it from didn't have anyone who knew how to use it.  :-DD

I see it too, I got my Fluke 335A pretty cheap and its only issues was a broken dial extension.

First Law of TEA, man...

1. TE will expand to fill all space available. And then some.  ;)

In Other News...
Been looking more than an hour for the baggie full of extensions for my modular power supply. Go ahead Spec, laugh your ass off about mnem vs the Tentacle Monster.  :-DD

Out of service could be anything from no longer in Cal to brain failure  :-// Not to worried it seems to be alive in this case :)

I hope it needs more doing to it than this DUD I purchased to play with YAWN BORING cant even improve it by the correct tongue angle and a swizzle stick :-DD
