Get this shit: I tried to send an offer to an Ebayer for an HP PSU and eBAY said,
" YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR BUYING LIMIT. WE PLACE LIMITS ON BUYERS WHO APPEAR TO HAVE PURCHASED TOO MANY ITEMS AS WE FEEL YOU MAY NEED A CHANCE TO REVIEW YOUR PURCHASES."
That my friends is T.E.A true story, just happened.
You simply can't make this sh!t up.
Dude... I've bought cars off eBay... multiple, using other people's money... and NEVER got that.
When eBay thinks you are in need of an intervention... you know your shit's fucked up.
I just won a PM6303A, but I think a (5) feedback bidder hustled the price up by $50, so I am hoping the seller will delete the bad bids and let me get it fair cost. Still waiting to see.
I would be very surprised if they did that. It's those extra bids that make sellers happier to offer stuff. Also, your winning bid is still going to be an amount that you were prepared to pay.
This is also the reason why "sniping" is popular. It limits the time other bidders have to react to whatever bids you place.
Hey... we were all Feedback (5) bidders once. If all that feedback is positive, could very well be they're really either new or just not interested in but a few things on eBay. I've gone years at a time without buying or selling a single thing there; that doesn't invalidate my 500+ Positive feedback.
As for sniping... I see it as just leveling the playing field. If you wanna win against the professional eBayers, you gotta step up your game and use the same tools they use. Plus, it saves you the agony of "Knock at the door, missed my auction" blues.
