I leave you with our welcome from the ground

This was mowed into Hatfield Heath on Stansted approach path.

Also he's so welcome the Queen can't accommodate him in the palace despite having 775 rooms, 57 of them being guest suites  :-DD

They transported him to RAF Northolt I think. I was listening in to Northolt ATC and they had incoming all sorts but were a bit hush on what tail numbers. My 2m slim jim works nicely on airband with the FT818  :-+ ... I was hoping there would be a flameout or something  :-DD . I haven't checked the news though so may be entirely wrong there and they were support aircraft.

Red light cameras are a constitutional issue that the courts have yet to resolve. Many cities have them, including selected intersections in NYC. They generate A LOT of cash. And the places that have them are reluctant to give them up because they are such a cash cow.

In New York a red light violation I think is 3 points. Get 9 points within 18 months and your license is suspended.

Er yes with a bit of luck, I'm hearing rumours that he's offering us a free trade deal but as always there's a catch, he wants the NHS carved up and privatised with your style of health care introduced. Insurance based and if you can't stump the readies, then you can quietly go away and chose a corner to die in. The real scary bit about that is, that the government have I believe already put the first stepping stones in place with the slow systematic closure of local doctor practises. They want to go from about 8,000 such practices to around 1,500 super centres nationally, staffed by fast tracked doctors, (nurses given extra training and school leavers manning the phone lines who will reading from a crib sheet) and so the madness goes on.  :palm:

RAF Boscome Down is our Area 51. Porton Down is bioweapons division basically. They had a bit of a reputation for human experimentation.

Not quite that simple with that one. This is good for the NHS. The current situation is all the doctors practices are private limited companies already and mostly hooky as hell. I've worked with a few over the years as I moonlit installing network cabling for them when they moved over from Xenix to SystmOne. A lot of the the GPs take the full NHS grant, go and work private, then hire locums to do the work then claim the NHS grant for locums. So basically they get a full NHS salary, locum grant and a full private consultancy. Hence why they all drive Teslas. The centralisation is an effort to nationalise the GP infrastructure. The NHS can't operate anything as distributed as individual GPs can so they are moving GPs to medical centres where they can keep a beady eye on the cunts.

The worst thing is the only way you get any decent care from any GP these days is knowing what's up with from Google and asking for a referral up front.

Also you can thank Labour for this mess. They started the whole PPP bollocks off. Trump just wants a piece of the action which he can fuck off.

Firstly with Porton Down, I think your taking a risk there....assuming he's a human  :-DD

I think we are rapidly becoming the grumpy old men of the forum  :-DD :-DD

Edit.
Actually PFI (PPP) was first introduced and used by the Conservatives under John Major in 1992, the Labour attacked it  but subsequently went on to be heavy users of the scheme when they gained office in 1997 and it exploded from then on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_finance_initiative  :palm:

Yeah that was mainly to get rid of BT which was a steaming state monopoly which was fair enough TBH. Labour used it to "fix" the NHS and a load of other things. TFL was a good outcome of it however!

Yes we are grumpy old gits for sure. I'm not sure that's a bad thing  :-DD

Well TFL failed bloody big time last night. My eldest 2 sons went to a Tenacious D concert in Wembley Arena and with around 10,000 fans and at the same their was a far larger concert going in Wembley Stadium for children and teenagers and there was many more thousands attending that event and they both finished at 11.00pm and then everyone was trying to get on the tube to get home. but there was a shortage of trains and then they announced no more trains were coming, that was it, end of transport with thousands upon thousands desperately trying to get home.

My boys managed to get as far as Liverpool Street in their quest to reach their car, parked at Newbury Park underground car park. They had no phones to ring home because their batteries had died taking photos of the band and videos etc. They found a taxi who agreed to drive them to Newbury Park but as was then around 02:00am, it cost £40 and they got home and indoors at 03:45am.

The organisers of those concerts and TFL should hang their heads in shame for leaving that many people, many of whom were children stranded in the City with nothing other then taxi's or night buses which were over whelmed. Disgusting.

I think that was basically a planning failure. Everyone knows the tubes close on a Sunday night. It's even documented on TFL's web site. They do engineering works until Mon morning. Fri/Sat night are the late finish evenings.

Many a night bus have I fallen asleep on and woken up in a bus garage over the years. That's the way out of London. Plus you get some interesting characters on them  :-DD

Yes, we are extremely grumpy and pissed off old men.  :-DD

Now let's get back to TEA because the very mention of "Trump" raises my blood pressure.  :palm:

I fixed the horizontal sweep issue of the RCA WO-505A. Twas a bad solder joint on the horizontial/sweep board. I wasn't anywhere near it when I recapped the power supply board but I must have disturbed it. Fixed now. Deoxit'ed all the controls. The sync is extremely unstable but gets better as scope warms up. It will barely sync on a square wave at all but pretty much OK on a sine wave. It points to leaky caps and there are numerous electrolytics on the horziontial/sweep board. So will inventory and change them all, including the vertical board.

Gonna let it cook for a while and see if there are any magic smoke issues.

The local Authority must have granted them a license so they were aware of the planned late finishes and the numbers attending. If something had happened to those many youngsters and many of them girls, who would be held accountable for that lapse in forethought.

I approve of his work, but only because he had the good taste to choose classic Fluttershy and Original Kevin.:-DD  Thanks for the link... I can waste much valuable time there between skirmishes with the JENGA scattered from hell to breakfast about the house.  >:D

Thank you for bringing this morning's smile.  ;D  I hope Ollie gets an award from Queen mum; he deserves it. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/teenager-mows-giant-message-into-lawn-for-donald-trump-a4157701.html   And good on Queen mum for refusing to have his noxious presence in her home.  :-+

Well, it's not that simple. The state constitution here is VERY explicit on how you can fine any citizen for any infraction; they HAVE TO catch you and ARREST you in person. They CANNOT write a ticket to a VEHICLE; it is not a person. They TRIED to do an end run around that by making it a "civil infraction" that wasn't so constrained by the law, which created massive exposure to all the gigacorporations operating chemical plants, fracking sites, and of course refineries; they've spent millions changing the laws to create "corporate personhood".

THAT COULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND. ;)   So no... nothing so altruistic as actual concern over civil liberties.  :palm:  It eventually boiled down to a simple business choice between collecting pocket change from the general population vs annoying their corporate overlords.  ::)

Not surprising; just as with Bush and NAFTA. Clinton has stated several times that signing it is his single great regret; he was brand new in office and made the mistake of thinking they would fix the huge, bleeding holes "in Committee". :palm: I want to believe that, if only for my own sanity and hope for humanity... but it's hard once you see the floodgates of international corruption that single act opened up.

Hopefully the girls and their parents.

I chose to put my daughter in (carefully controlled and limited) dangerous situations (e.g. backpacking around India on overnight trains with no booked hotels), so that she could cope with Real Life when I wasn't there. On one memorable occasion she blamed someone else (with some reason) for her being in a life-threatenng situation; my response was that she was nominally and legally the responsible person.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
