Dear insiders, I have some probes to identify (what is it exactly)

1.)  Wandel+Goltermann TK-3 BN 207/2  10Hz - 1MHz U<=3V, 100kHz: 20M 7pF / 1MHz: 1M 7pF

2.) (unknown)  P 851/75-93  a large black anodized Aluminium Case Probe, UHF jack

3.) (unknown)  P 851/50-93  same

thanks for informations.

The W&G ought to belong with one of their selective level meters, as they are the only W&G instruments I know which would benefit from a probe. In that case, it is almost certainly for a 75Ohm input. Which connector does it have?

All those numbers appearing with the P851s are well known Impedance values. So they are probes with integral minimum loss pads adapting 50 or 75Ohm sorces to a 93Ohm input?? I have heard of 93Ohm systems, but not of an instrument using that for input impedance.

Logic probe?
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

Got this on the printer so my silicone cables don't get chaffed  ;)

Takes about 22m of filament with 4 layers all round and 25% infill. In the zip file if anyone else wants to give it a go too.
Nice! So please answer me some questions, as I would give the technology a try before jumping into the hole headlong.
What did that cost you to make (Material)?
Did you find that model or did you have to do 3d-CAD?
What is the material?
How long did it take to print?

It is my design done in Fusion 360 maybe an hours work or a touch over by the time I tweaked it and added all the fillets.

Still printing as of 3.30am but loks like it is nearly done. The slicer said over 9 hours ao like all FDM prints it is not a fast process. Material in this case is PLA but ABS or PETG would be fine too and they are also tougher but come with their own issues.

Material cost say 22m of a 300m roll. Locally we pay about $20-22 AUD/roll so circa $1.60 AUD which is about 1 Euro. That plus some power.

You would never get rich making parts but it gives flexibility of design or now the model is done print another if needed.

Finally time to get some Zzzz after a very very long day and night  :phew:

Amazing picture! Those Nixie tubes in dim light  :-+

Can we have it on better resolution?

This should get you to the original photo:

I think it should be downloadable; if not and you want a copy let me know and I'll PM it to you or something.

Got it! Thanks  :-+

@Martin.M: Isn't there some logo on the forward smooth area of the 'P851' probes?

If it jams, force it.  If it breaks, you needed a new one anyway...

I wanted to ask Martin if he has an album of all his stuff. I've seen his Tektronix restoration blog, but seems like he has way more awesome stuff!  :-+

Blimey. One for Specmaster... Just took the PC case I bought to bits. It's only a Micro ATX but there's 1x 5 1/4" hole, 4x 3.5" disk bays, 4x 2.5" mounts and the board takes 2x NVMe SSDs. Expansion worries sorted  :-DD

mnem
No, seriously. I have like 15 lbs of frozen bacon I’ve got NO IDEA what to do with; local food bank won’t take it because it’s past expiry date.  ::) I’ve literally been eating bacon & ham for WEEKS...  :scared:

the right side of the table, there are a 535A and a 585A  8)

Well, the PM 3218 arrived, about a week late as the vendor had a brain fart and went on holiday for a week...

Delivered by the Herpes, left on the doorstep in fact, despite requiring a signature, the screen bezel is now a 100 piece jigsaw puzzle, and the control panel is shaped like a satellite dish...

Some of the inner knobs are jammed, many are rotating the whole pot/switch, and there's a certain level of funkiness occurring when the panel is moved  |O

I always knew I'd have to re-cap it and generally check the innards, but this... the case is crusty af as well, looks like it was stored in a damp and draughty shed at the bottom of the garden for the last 20 years  :palm:

At least it works, at least in general...

A couple of pics to show off the dual timebase:

100KHz sinewave (allegedly)

1MHz squarewave

The squarewave looks horrible on my Tek 420 as well, not sure if it's my crappy makeshift connections or the sig gen (probably both  :-DD)

The vendor has told me they had it 'covered' with SHermes to the tune of £35, so will look at screwing some pennies out of them to cover the insult to the CRO gods
nuqDaq yuch Dapol?

Wow, that sucks. How do those dipshits Herpes stay in business?  Although I'll bet the packaging wasn't that great.

Glad we don't have Herpes over here.

Yeah, that really sucks.
But the padding is the sellers job..

..or it's the job of Pitney Bowes:  >:(
Waiting for an Agilent 3499a switch control system 5-slot mainframe shipped through ebays global shipping program and will be delivered by herpes locally.
