Woaa they even use Dave's video to try to sell their fake Meterman meter.

https://www.meterman.com/

Why do you say "Fake"?
I presume because Meterman became Amprobe years ago.

Yep, Meterman was bought by Wavetek and then ended owned by Amprobe. They stopped using the brand meterman but you can still find used unit on ebay. Dave reviewed a old unit years ago.

Now meterman.com is somehow affiliated to wavetek.com and sell rebranded Uni-t meter. Again nothing to do with the old meterman company and product.

Here's a gen-you-wine blast from the past...

https://youtu.be/Vai9bdnw_uo?t=806

I started it it t=806 because it's time to play Spot the Test Equipment as they visit a lab at Stanford.  :-+

"With OS/2 Warp) ...IBM did something that is extraordinarily unusual; they really did explicitly decide 'The next system is going to use less memory, and we're just going to sit down & figure out how to do it.' The system is clearly tighter and has better performance on large systems as well as small. But as I said... that discipline of sitting down and saying 'We're going to make the software smaller.' is practically a first in the industry."

'nuff sed.

OS/2 Warp was indeed a damn good OS. Almost crash proof and had a Windoze emulator. But Windoze got a head start and it was all over.

A quick search of the TESS shows the MeterMan trademark was abandoned in 2003: http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4810:53m3mp.2.2 and then refiled successfully in April, 2019 by... you guessed it... Wavetek INC: http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4810:53m3mp.5.1  ;)

So not "fake". They just all happen to be owned by the same Asian ConGlom-0 Corp trying to sell these uber-cheap signal gens under the Wavetek name.

Which interestingly, their copyright filing is now showing abandoned as of March, 2019 (at least in the US) : http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4810:53m3mp.3.1

Looks to me like their attempt at glomming the Wavetek name was opposed successfully by the existing holder Aquatic Development Group Inc, a company that makes wave machines and such: http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4810:53m3mp.6.2

Difficult to suck when you've croaked. Or has someone given it Frankenstein bolts and the old Igor 20 kV resuscitation jolt?

I suggest you stay away from the "Walking Dead", "Twilight" and pretty much everything Anne Rice fanfic sites. They have shit that would literally make a corpse blush.

That's not blushing, that's post-mortem lividity.

Interesting! Thank you for doing the research.

When I say fake I mean that they have nothing to do with the old meterman and wavetek. They are mostly trying to salvage the reputation of old companies. And they will quickly destroy that reputation with cheap products  ;)
