Huh... somebody figured out how to turn a Pachinka Machine into a Turing-complete gravity-powered logic engine as a STEM toy. Only enough room for a few logic gates, but all the basic types are represented. I like that there is zero online component in the set; everything is hands-on and an actual booklet of logic puzzles to solve. And a little cheesy Manga too.  :P

Indeed. Watch over the next few weeks. https://www.gov.uk/challenge-election-result among other interesting things which will happen. This is not over yet!

As a Socialist and a Leave voter, it's a doubly disappointing result for me, but the writing was always on the wall and the Labour strategists are the ones should be sacked, not Corbyn, but meh, w/e...

The vote is over, challenging it is a waste of time unless serious irregularities come to light which is unlikely.
I suspect we won't have to wait 5 years for another election though, as I don't believe the results give Johnson quite the clear Brexit mandate that many people seem to think. I think internal tory divisions on the fine details will be his undoing.

DIGITS !!!  :scared:

Is it just me, or is that much "precision" just, well, a little bit suspect?

Not for a reciprocal counter, feed it an external GPSDO ref and its not only precise but accurate.

Thanks Zucca. That may happen yet. Or may join mnem in Canada  :-DD.  As always people with bad haircuts get impeached eventually. Either way it's not about politics which is as genuine as WWE but is about people and we can all do better just to ignore the fuckery and carry on as friends and not play the us and them games that are asked of us.

Interested to see the FA-2 there. I was looking at one of them the other day. It's cheap, small and does a lot of good stuff for the money! Interested more in a "after a month" review though.

Second thing... I am going to upgrade the alligator clip connector on my DE-5000R, which means I'd like to find some decent quality two conductor shielded test lead cable. Doesn't have to be expensive or six point five digit special. It does have to be test lead flexible and probably 18 or 20 gauge.  Anyone have any recommendations?  Oh yeah, I'd prefer to not buy 100' of anything.  ;D

Thanks all!

But they seem to have a minimum order, of course, so I'm guessing you found them already.

And, IIRC (but more likely IIRI :( ), either AUS$750k or a skill useful in the outback.

India doesn't want us (wonder why).
Don't know about Sri Lanka - perhaps mentioning that I once met Arthur C Clarke might help :)

Australia is going down the same shitter I understand. My uncle moved out there a few years back (Brisbane) and is moving back here because he says it's better. I don't know if he is an idiot or not. He used to be.

After much reflection this morning, I have decided to stay put. I'm going to sell up, cash in all of my investments and dig through some impending shit, then buy a small house somewhere semi-remote but accessible, attempt to get energy self-sufficient, dig a fucking moat and forget the human race exists.

Our Federal Excuse is less of an embarrassment than others even if the Leader yet again usurped the former one Ceaser in the back style. So a win sort of :palm:

Brisbane for a Pom would suck balls for 5-6 months of the year with humidity and temperature before you get into the fact that it is just another big city.

Living out in the semi rural part of Victoria and going back to the big smoke for a visit once in a while NFW I would go back in spite of spending a chunk of my work life there. Property pricing sucks and the drive to NEED an income to support that and general cost of living is nuts.

I plan on staying put. Rural area so it's quiet. My rent is reasonable. Landlord takes care of the place. No car payments and debit free. Yes, I have some asshole neighbors but I ignore them. As long as they leave me alone life is good.  :-+

Just read above result and "briefly" interpreted the result map below, so what next ? Scottish are going asking to divorce too ?  :o Hope I'm wrong though.

They will. However it's not that easy and they will get smashy breaky over stuff.

Regarding your last comment it has been a long term objective of mine, merely accelerated by this shit flavoured sandwich. I need somewhere I can get a good 42U rack in :D

The UK will almost certainly cease to exist within a generation (UK == United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland). That will leave GB. (Business opportunity: become registrar for the GB TLD, and or domain name squat *.gb :) )

If Scotland leaves, then the only name I know for the rest is "England and Wales". Presumably the TLD would be ew, as in "eeeeeuuuuuwww"!

A foaf that moved back here from New Zealand a few years ago is likely to move back to NZ.
All my friends and relatives are, where possible, getting "other" passports - usually Irish, Greek in one case.

I remember the "brain drain" from the 60s and 70s. That will be repeated.

Now the only hope is best articulated here: https://www.electronicsweekly.com/blogs/mannerisms/politicians/boris-2019-12/

My suggestion: Scotland and NI set up a "Celtic Union" with the Republic of Ireland. That way they get to stay in the EU and the border issue is resolved too.

In case you hadn't noticed, Scotland has a land border with England.

I wonder which way places like Berwick-on-Tweed would go. Over the centuries it has oscillated between England and Scotland.

For fun, tell us which country this field is in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4488068,4.9419341,21z
Then zoom out 20 or so times, so the magnification is "13.5z" rather than "21z", and answer the question again :)

That's where my grandmother came from on the non Germanic side. They didn't like the Scottish at all and are "complete bastards" according to her which is why she moved to London. My grandfather loved the people so much there he got a job as a light house keeper.
