The thing is, every one of them has an issue - AKA Sick Puppy. I use my good ol' Agilent 54622D for work on projects. I wanted to repair these  and offer starting EE enthusiast here for dirt cheap.

I still remember when I couldn't afford for proper scope, even old analogue  :palm:

Let there be no such pain in the world anymore!  :box:

Good luck with that. I've actually given up fixing Teks a few months back. I'm just about done. I've got a nice working 2245 and am content with that now.

As for the 546xx - nice scopes. I like the megazoom models. Unless someone has dropped it (been there with a 54602):-DD

Yep. It's something I had in onenote I was going to reply with the next time someone asks me that question for ref which happens at least once a week. I didn't type all that now :)

We could just start a thread called "BD139 and Cerebus bitch about software." and then we could just post links to the relevant messages rather than reposting the same rants over and over again.  :)

I'd like to join. We seem to agree on the targets.

I know, but take another close look and there are bits of it missing, and that price is just absurd, I'd love to know just how they arrived at that valuation  :--

I can't see anything missing other than the cap on the earth screw which is not a biggie.

As for the valuation, no idea. It's way out for something that crusty including postage.

Sorry about no pics earlier, my phone was refusing to talk to my pc. tbh, I know how it feels... anyway did a factory reset on the phone and all is good now (except for the stuff that I didn't remember to back up and can't remember, but meh, w/e...).

Nice uncluttered layout on the main pcb of this AKAI EA-M800 graphic equaliser:

I'll give the lithium rechargeable cell a chance, it might have been stood for a while. If it still drops to <3.0V offline after being charged for a day or so, I'll source another, or possibly look at bodging a supercap in.

I like the vfd, nice warm friendly colours:

The 7150 is more densely packed, hope that evil yellow bastard and its cousins don't become a problem:

There seems to be a button or lens missing between the Channel A and B Volts/div knobs?

Not one I own, but that looks like a recessed control of some sort, like the balance and gain controls below the knobs.  Funny it's not labeled, but it doesn't look like a hacked hole.  If you Google it, you can see a lot of photos of other (cleaner  :-DD) units with the same hole.

My guess would be it's an indicator light with lens made of that clear plastic that crumbles to powder with age. Scope is the right age for that, and by now it would be a pretty universal condition. :-//

Yep I know, but are you talking about the round holes below Channel A or the rectangular one that the white dissects?

Rectangular one.  the manual here:

https://usermanual.wiki/Document/philipspm3260servicemanual5BET5D.981480036

Shows the empty hole in the photographs but doesn't say what it's for, at least in my skimming.

Yes. The round holes have trimpots behind; I suspect the square one is an indicator with missing lens.

I think the front cover locks into that hole.  It's not really clear in the manual, but it describes turning a knob in the center of the front cover to lock it into place.

That would be it then and explains why bd139 didn't find anything missing  :-+ I can see that Ch A and B V/D knobs both have trim pots beneath them but the square hole looked ominous to, but your explanation would also explain why it has no legend on the panel.

The corona virus hysteria was cranked up a notch in North America today. The conference I was supposed to attend this month in San Francisco was cancelled and the company I work for just decided to cancel all travelling of their employees. On top of that if I leave the country (for vacation ?) I need to work from home for 2 weeks before returning to the office  :o

I'm scare to catch a common cold now!
