I’m out today. Had round two of this infernal disease last night. Hit 39.8 degrees and burned up for 4 hours. Feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. Just when I thought it was getting better. Grr  . So far no worse than normal flu but still don’t recommend it. At least I’ve got an excuse to have a few days off work now

If that's typical then this household may have had the whole thing weeks ago and we're doing lots of avoidance stuff for no gain at all. Think I might just err on the side of caution all the same.

Anyway, keep your pecker up and make sure that you brief the kids to offer any SK stuff here first.

I had a sort of victory yesterday Mum's Doctor read her the riot act about avoiding non essential humans due to her immune system. She promptly left there and went out to Lunch at another near 80 year olds house. 'She doesn't go out much so ABC...' was the excuse

I need advice (I probably need professional help too, but that's another subject). A local company is closing down, that I've done some contract work for. They've offered me their surplus component stock for a reasonable price, but I think I would only use certain components and I'd never use the quantities they're offering. Unfortunately, it's an "all-or-nothing" offer. So do I take the offer and try to sell on the unwanted components? This would mean having a garage full of components until I've sold off the surplus, or do I just let it go? Just for clarity, we're talking about reels of both passive and active devices (all SMD), mainly powersupply related stuff. Also, the reels are all past their commercial "best before" date, so they would only be useful to hobbyists.

I suspect you would find it difficult to shift any "ordinary" components commercially. How many companies would accept the chance of having to rework their kit because they bought components of "unknown provenance"?

OTOH "interesting" components might sell at a high discount.

OTOOH, who knows what the supply line will be in 6/12 months?

Oh joy... My new CRT-based toy coming from the states was with Fedex, is now with fleabay GSP, and a Herpes number has been opened.

Having said that, the local Herpes lady has been reasonable in the past.

They've sent me a list of what they think is in the stock, so for example, there's 15,000 Zener diodes (from 3V up to 36V) , 12,000 Dual N-Channel MOSFETs (2N7002DW), lots of useful general purpose NPN/PNP transistors and tonnes of passive components. Things that I might use, but never in those volumes. Obviously no company would buy things like that from me, they have their own (certified) supply chains, but would I ever get rid of that many components to Hobbyists? From what I know about the company, they specialised in electronics and charging stations for e-scooters and e-bikes. As far as I can see, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of CPUs, although I did spot some SPI Flash ROM, that I could use, but again, not in the volumes they're offering.
