Channel 1 on the Type 3A6 fixed. See schematic. Nothing complicated (for a change). Q134 had a dirty socket. Deoxit and done.

Now on to channel 2. That's a weird one. As you move the position control from minus to center the sine wave distorts and collapses.

That actually looks like a fun problem to solve that one.

something seemed familiar about meds paint scheme.

oh yeah.  thats it.

It supposedly works.  "Underground facilities" in Sweden, where people might be confined for work in "high-stress times" are painted apricot, dark green and cream. The linoleum flooring is pretty close to med's bedroom walls in colour. Dark green is reserved for sleeping quarters, because it is calming.

A very good example of this is the civil defence central for northern Stockholm, which is a pinnacle of 1970s design and applied research on keeping people happy: http://www.antus.nu/Elefanten.html

I liken this flavor of corruption to the difference between soy sauce and Teriyaki. Soy sauce (like the usual everyday sort of small-time corruption we've been accustomed to for centuries) is a wine-like product distilled from a plant not usually used for winemaking. American-style corruption is a whole 'nuther level; like they took the existing corruption and distilled it to its purest essence.

Just as Teriyaki is distilled from soy sauce, it is an acquired taste with many (arguably a majority) who find it disgusting. Like American-style corruption.

Before you go and use Soy sauce and Teriyaki sauce as similes again, you might want to read up on how they are made - there's no distillation involved.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

I think that any green is good for bedrooms because green is well known to be a peaceful colour, you only have to look outside in the spring/summer when the leaves are on the trees to feel relaxed. Blue is a colour renowned for making people feel cooler and is an ideal choice in really hot climates.

How sure are you it's an original? That price bracket is bang on for a fake. They're functional fakes mind, so not a huge issue.

What the fuck, just been looking at the cost of obtaining a different set of blades for my new wire stripper, here in the UK because it seems Capri Tools don't ship from the USA to the UK, which is a real shame as the cost of blades from them is $14.99 a set (free shipping within the USA), The same blades from Ideal UK dept is £137.28  :o and free shipping. The complete tool from Amazon UK (Capri) only cost me £16.99, so that rules out the sourcing of blades that go down to 26AWG in the UK.

Just fired off an email to Capri in the USA to see if they would ship to the UK at extra cost  :palm:

spent a little time in "underground facilities"......and yeah.....now that you mention it the walls did seem to be painted in odd colors.

but the most important thing was that the chow hall was much better than average.  it almost made it worth the hassle of getting in and out of the damn place.  AND it was always a hassle.

How functional are the functional fakes? I need one that’ll talk to python. Or matlab simulink. Preferably python because I’m going to have to buy matlab and I don’t fancy giving mathworks any coin.

Wow, I'm gobsmacked, Capri have responded to my enquiry already, but sadly not good news.

Hi Graham,

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, we are still unable to ship outside of the U.S. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

As far as I can tell mine is the real deal so no hands-on experience with fakes, but I did some homework. They reportedly work, but may or may not crap out after a while. That was a while ago so they may have changed the recipe in the mean time.
