Probably suckled you to Hawkwind, and you soon progressed to Manson, Cradle of Filth and so onward of your own accord.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

Those Hewlett-Packard mugs on eBay from a while ago.  Has anybody else received theirs?  How were they packed?  Did they arrive intact?

Mine arrived intact, though I can't say it was because of the packing.  In spite of it, perhaps...  It was just loose in a small mug-sized box.

@mnementh, bloody hell do you live in a relatively wealthy area or what? I mean you are always pulling out something from dumpsters, thrift stores or curb finds. I never come across anything remotely like that in my area

You are not alone. Neither do I.  :-//
In earlier times, the city where I live (as well as many others in DE) had the so called Sperrmuell (bulk waste) collection organized by groups of streets which were adjacent or at least close. One could make incredible finds there and come never home empty handed, if for nothing but spares. And that was not limited to electronics. Tools, including working electrical hand tools, glassware and chinaware in matching sets, you name it - one could find it. If nothing else turned up, I would take on a heap of copiers, typewriters etc. and break some tools out in order to harvest springs, levers, retaining rings and such.
Once I came across a pile where the library of an older engineer was thrown out.
Now they do it such that you have to call and then you are given a date when you can put out your stuff. Those are still coordinated by districts, but too far apart and hard to find to make it worth the effort.

The power of FDM: Boring Mundane Everyday Print #89...

Here I have a project I dreamed up in my sleep (literally; woke up this AM with the whole project in my head); leveraging Amazon same-day delivery, this is a useful article that went from idea to parts to completed project in less than 12 hours. Could have been 3-4 hours if I'd had some spade connectors on hand. ;)

Y'all saw this this bookshelf system I picked up yesterday as curb-score; once I finished fixing it up, I wanted to make it iPod-Dock-Ready for my wife to use at her new music teacher job. AUX IN is easy enough with just a cheap $4 pigtail; but iPud power can be a bit of a PITA, and the powercube requires an extra outlet that is almost never available. Solution: Install a iPower cube inside the back panel of the stereo.

This needs a bracket; a perfect application for 3DP. Took me ~30 minutes to scrap-sketch the dimensions and whip this out in Fusion.

After that, less than 2 hours hour printing while I did other things and BOOM! Ready for trial-fitting. Needs connectors; shop them over breakfast. Available same-day with a few other things for ~$US20. Get the cutout laid out and holes drilled; parts delivered at ~6PM.

Wiring was a cinch, and because it's a Apple powercube it plays nice with the iPod, and the iPod plays beautifully. STL is here.

Definitely an interesting sound.

I don't like much metal, but I do like Eluveitie:

I kinda like them less after Anna Murphy left (lead vocals and hurdy gurdy), but they are still pretty good.  :-+

Also, Opeth's 'Damnation' album is a must-listen IMO. Mikael Åkerfeldt's guitars and vocals are awesome.

Ah, geez...  You guys are making me find all sorts of new music I hadn't heard before, now I wanna burn a disc!

I'm trying to head out on the highway (and only have a CD player set up in the van right now) to go to the lake, about 7h from here, but I still have a couple more loads of stuff to get out of what was my parents' house...  It's already gonna be like 5am by the time I get out of here, I don't want to start burning discs now... LOL :)

I'm almost done, though, luckily!!...  Then VROOM, VROOM!!  :)
This is what the garage still looked like yesterday:    :scared:

Oh I do like a bit of the Filth.

Manson no. Bit lame. Was parents -> Queen -> Iron Maiden -> being drunk at strawberry fair in Cambridge -> metalhead floozies -> filth etc  :-DD

Yesterday I drove  3h to pick up my new acquisition : Fluke 335D

The unit is a mint condition with a last calibration in 97.
For my surprise the service/user manual is also present (it was not specified  in the auction)

After a warmup I did a quit test :

I saw on the forum that this unit a has a lot of electrolytic caps, do you think I should change all off them even if everything looks good?

Some of those old Ghetto blasters do sound quite good as long as you don't crank the volume to max and then force them to play rap crap.  ::)

Everyone's a hater...

Nothing wrong with Hip-Hop as a genre, though I'll grant you there are some real turds out there. Same can be said of any genre though.

Try and peel me from my Fugees, dead prez, NWA, and I'll pop a cap in your ass.

Not bad, added to my yt list. Still hard to beat the original thrashers though. Have some Napalm Death:

I've been enjoying Muse a lot this week, especially this:

Another item for the collection.  Fluke 25 battle axe with slightly iffy ohms range for £20. Volts work.  Probably leakage somewhere that needs cleaning or something stupider. Figured it was worth a punt at that price as the rest of it is fairly tidy.

Edit: also has anyone in the UK got any ebay deals sent out this week? Need to sell some shit  :-DD

Axe? Brick, hammer, projectile...

I like them :)
