bitseeker...we need that rabbit hole incorporated into our TEA Glossary.  :-+

Yes! So, I retouched the photo some to bring out the bunny's face more and make the horizontal log look more like a vertical hole in the ground.
Actually, I was thinking the foreground lighting should have a nice tinge of nixie orange - not white.

This is after about 30 minute warm up and its still falling. When I powered them on, the count started at 1.000040V and I would not be surprised if it bottoms out to ..DEAD NUTS!  This 335D is impressing me more and more (despite the few missing parts)

I am so stoked to see what these units do when I have an offically calibrated 7.5 DMM to read their outputs...the hair on my arms is standing up!

That's really good, why not leave it on for a couple of hours and try it again, I think it might just be bang on the nuts then :-+

Don't Panic put on your Peril Sensitive Sunglasses and wait a while :) I would think an hour at least would be needed before the calibrator settled to near where it was set and even a couple. The HP 740B I have is at least an hour.

Like there's nixie equipment down there somewhere? (The glow might be a bit too subtle.)

No sooner did I post above and I get a phone call. It's my woman. (In case you don't know she's NYPD cop) She's in the ER again. Got knocked down again breaking up a fight. This time the injuries are more extensive including hitting her head. In a lot of pain. X-rays pending. She'll call me later with the results. They may keep her overnight.

I may be making a trip down to NYC tonight. Damn.

Woah, sorry to hear that, med. That's scary. Hope she'll be OK.

Well Racal OCXO problem turned out to be a little more difficult than expected but I decided I fancied doing a good job of this one.

Does it work? Woohoo it did! Went through careful cal after this and is bang on the mark now.

Quick test with the MFJ doohickey at 150MHz to check channel A. Job done  :-+

That was quick. Nicely done, bd! :-+

I can go to the mil auctions and buy the beat up HMMWV's pretty cheap. I wish I could get the contract for all the used Toyota's and Land Rovers WE LEAVE everywhere we go. Its cheaper to leave them there and write them off, than it is to pay to ship them all back. There's a line of 300+ bad ass Land Rovers, right now in Bagram that will just sit there until a contractor buys them and ships them around the world...probably less than $1k each (if you don't mind the occasional bullet hole)
Bullet holes can be patched up easily enough.

Patched UP?!? People pay millions of dollars a year for stupid plastic stickers that make their hoopty LOOK like it got in the way of a drive-by shooting... and you wanna PATCH THEM UP?!?    :scared:

Those holes aren't DAMAGE... they're FEATURES!!!   :-DD

Just what I was about to say. Those holes are good for street cred! :-DD

So the Fluke has fallen to xxxxxx93 and I going to start tweaking the pots to get it back to 1.0V....NO I AM not, just kidding, but I bet some of you think I would...its okay, I am still new here.

I am not new to the meteorology tab or Fluke DC Standards though. I'll burn this one in for a few weeks and write a script to record the data with temp correlation. I generally do one data point per minute, but Ill see what the new K7510 can do with KickStart and  if the relays let it roll, I may do twice a minute.

Completed projects. Both the 190VDC reference and the 190mv, 1.9V, and 19V reference. The updated and final schematic for the 190mv, 1.9V, 19V reference.

This will teach @med not to start a 'proper thread' for his Vref project.  :horse:  Way back weeks and weeks ago I went searching to find this :phew:

OK, another alternative is to let me know to add it to the POI index, which I've just done. So, at least it'll be a little easier to find it next time.

By the way, was there a schematic for the 190V reference? I failed to find it, but will link it if anyone unearths it from the depths of the thread.

I was [thought I was directly] replying to bd139 about his Racal 9915 vs mine.  Long time reader, first time member.  Maybe someday the threading mechanics of this forum will become apparent, but I won't hold my breath.

A quick answer to what test equipment interest I have can be had at http://web.jlw.com/test.html .

Quick check of your link credentials - APPROVED with gear to spare  :-DD You seem to be deficient in the quantity of Multimeters so keep working on it  >:D

Welcome, jlw. Quite the lists of gear, especially in the counters and generators departments. :-+

Nine hundred and seventy one pages... wow. I hadn't been in this thread for a while; didn't realize it was growing so fast.
Did any other thread in the forum break 1000 pages before? Or will this be the first?

Well, according to the Forum Stats page, the second-longest thread has about 1/3 as many posts. China has the Great Wall. We have this thread. :-DD

Uncanny, it is. Thanks for the intro and welcome back!

My bad. Here's the final schematic

Once I get the 500VDC reference done and tested I'll post that.

I collect Tek gear mate and have for about 12 years now. I got the basics and even some advances methods of repair and troubleshoot down pat, but I do not have the time. And like you said, its tedious and you dont want to do it again...I said that 5 years ago, yet I spend one Sunday a month trying anyway...Hard to put a dent in 60 plugins with just 1 a month on the bench, SO my offer was real, if you're interested.

I'll think about it.  :-+ I've got so many projects here that I want to get to. I currently have something lined up for nearly every day that will keep me busy for 2 weeks straight. And then something new shows up and goes to the front of the cue like this 7A16A plug-in and throws all those plans to hell.  :-DD
