20 pages behind from just a few days away fishing !  ::)  :bullshit:

Anyways, it might have been worth it as our team won the most points and we came away with a major prize.  :phew:
Got my first Stripey too, shame we were after points so tagged it and let it go.

bitseeker...we need that rabbit hole incorporated into our TEA Glossary.  :-+

Yes! So, I retouched the photo some to bring out the bunny's face more and make the horizontal log look more like a vertical hole in the ground.
Actually, I was thinking the foreground lighting should have a nice tinge of nixie orange - not white.

switched over to "groot" but she didn't like that any better.
Actually, I was thinking Benjamin Bunny. Not only is he a dead ringer for Peter Cottontail's cousin... it seems fitting, as he's "the sensible one".

This was my attempt...

Better stop now or I'll end up down one for real....

I see. OK, one more try, a little more orangey glow. He looks pretty intrigued.

My bad. Here's the final schematic

Once I get the 500VDC reference done and tested I'll post that.

Thanks. Added. :-+

I think... speaking as a dwagon, with some experience here... that any such attempt just makes it look like you're trying to set Benjamin Bunny on fire.  I mean, if that's the feel you're going for, then    , well done.

But otherwise... maybe a strategic withdrawal from the meme would be most prudent. The only way it would work is if you found a way to actually put a nixie counter in frame to put the hearthlike glow in context.  :-+

I agree, it was getting rather toasty-looking. But to really get some tubes in frame at the right angle, etc., to look right is more than I can get into at the moment. I shall leave what's in the (original) rabbit hole to the viewer's imagination.  ;)

@bit; I bought the Fluke PM6303 from that seller and it arrived today. They have poor/ if any comms, and do a horrible job packing, but the RCL was bang out after I "trmmied" out the leads and I cannot complain for  the money. They have a pretty sick inventory and everything is on the cheap'ish end of the spectrum. They have a few HP Spectrum Analyzers I am watching for Oculus, and a few other items I want to add to my bench (3) and (4).

Good stuff and bad packing? Scary! :o

Depends maybe, in the eyes of the other parties, on whether you caught one with stripes or one that can call out R, C, and L precisely.
If that would still work along the Pokemon principles, Inverted16850 is probably going to exercise it to the limits hoping it evolves in a upmarket Wayne-Kerr or Tegam.

:-DD I wish man. I had a nice HP4274A a while back and sold it, I am always* kicking myself  for that stupid mistake. I would love to get a 4275A though..but if I am able to turn this lot into a badass "modern" CAL LAB, that would be pretty sick.

I was holding a nice 332 unit for another user, but they bailed so I will be posting another nice 332D with stats and pics on the sale thread shortly. Its a nice unit, like I said I was holding it for someone here who bailed, so if you want one, let me know.

Visited a local surplus store today. As far as test equipment goes, not a lot of stuff I was willing to spend money on. They wanted way too much for the 8410 network analyzer with polar display module and wouldn't budge on price. They have about 10-12 of those Tek 485s in rackmounts. And a whole shelf of scope plugins...if anyone sees anything they want feel free to message me and I could conceivably pick it up for you in the near future (this stuff does not move quickly).

I ended up just getting another vacuum tube for the collection (now I have a pair of JAN CRC-832A transmitter tubes) and a nice 9 outlet shop power strip.
