Now do your moral duty and sell the duff one on ebay as untested  :-DD

More seriously: nice one  :-+

The duff one has already been disposed of in the trash. I do have SOME morals.  :-DD

Feeling a little bit Jammy today, med?  :-DD

Maybe put both Rev 5 hybrids in so you don't have weird response differences between the two channels? Or gonna wait a bit and make sure no egregious failures in the meanwhile?

I thought about it and I may install the ver 5 in channel 1 too. But so far with the testing I've done I see no difference between the channels. So the jury is still out.

That Bundle Kosmic posted looks worth the drive  ;D Go on do it you are 'retired' and have time >:D

I'm already running out of room and I can't save it all alone.  :-DD

2 hours drive on my side. If I go down there, I'm going to have a fun time explaining to the border officer why my car is full of crap on my way back  :-DD

Could not resist anymore. I had to go down there today. Good thing I have Hatchback. I was able to load everything in the car  :phew:

Do I see a Tek 485 and a Power Designs PSU? If so, you have bagged two of my favourite pieces of equipment.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

If you have speed bumps (sleeping policemen) over there like we do here, I reckon it must have bottomed out on some of them  :-DD Seriously good load there and a hell of a lot of cleaning to be done as well, well done. :-+

Yes, was definitely a stroke of luck. I'm trying to clear all outstanding projects before I tackle the boatanchor 7904. As of right now all my Tek scopes work expect that one.

This may be a tek oscilloscope that even med couldn't save...

It was found in a pile of trash and listed on CL. The ad said it powered up. The guy listing it just didn't want to see it in a dumpster, so when I offered to see what I could do with it, he gave it to me.  I met him at URS electronics this morning and picked it up.

I don't think I can salvage this one, which is a shame given the very cool coax delay line storage design.  There are rusted pots and most of the pushbutton switches are damaged.

Makes me sad to see gear treated like this.  I guess I will strip this one down for parts, and give the rest of it a decent burial at the ecycle site.

I called the number given to me for Inverted18650. Got phonemail and while it didn't identify the number as his I left a message anyway. I identified who I was and from the blog. I indicated that we were all concerned that we hadn't heard from him in over a month and we hope he was OK. I asked him to call me directly or log on and let us know how he's doing.

If I get a call back I'll let everyone know.

No update to this. So far there has been no response.

Thanks for giving it a try, med. I also had no replies earlier (to emails). Looks like we'll just have to wait and see. If only someone lived nearby.

There's one hope that may yield a response. I have his name and snail mail. Now he may be for whatever reason incapacitated but I'm pretty sure someone would be managing his snail mail. He did mention to me once that he has a wife and I think a teenage son. If someone want's to pony up and send a snail mail PM me and I'll give you the name and address.

TBH I'm very worried about him. Depression sucks, and in all my dealings with him, he definitely was showing the signs of someone with severe issues. I do hope and pray that he is well and recovering and just taking a break from the internet. I haven't heard from his email in months.

You know, I was thinking the other day about snail mail. How about I send a good ol' greeting card? Since it's impractical to pass one around, if you want to include a short message with your forum name and, optionally, your real one, either

1. PM me your info and message and I'll transcribe it onto the card.
2. If you want to have it in your own handwriting, take a photo of your message and PM me the link. I'll download, print and stick it on the card or, for longer messages, enclose it whole.

Let's say have all PMs sent to me by Saturday, so I have a little time to assemble it to mail out on Monday.

No it wasn't that bad but bumps on the road were a problem  :)

The location was pretty remote and I had to use unpaved roads.

Man, if med says it is toast, I know I am tiltin' at windmills.   :-BROKE

I wish there were a way to test some of the boards. I may save them as "give 'em a try if you dare" swap-ins"  In any case, I will strip it in the garage so as not to frighten the gear on my bench.  ;D

edit: I find the yellow BNC cover still in place particularly melancholic.

Maybe, umm, someone took the rear cover off, stamped on it, and put it back on?  ::)

TBH, that I would not have bothered with, not worth the fuel you paid to fetch it home even.  :--
