Or you would maybe to a neater job with a stone for sharpening scythes.  ;)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=scythe+sharpening+stone&_sacat=0

Those would work; some even mention billhooks specifically - but none of the pictures have quite such a pronounced hook.

I have used similar hooks on long handles way back when for Thistles. I even used a Scythe ONCE for fun then got out the Brushcutter out for the Bracken as Scythes are to much like hard work for scrub.

I love using that billhook, but only for small gardening trimming jobs, e.g. taking twigs off a branch so that both can go in a chipper.

Scythes look great, but also look hard work. It can't have been fun when they were the only way to cut wheat crops.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Can somebody explain me what this little explosion has caused after the projectile has left the jelly block?

And for sharpening the hook:
Perhaps you'll find here a technique or something which might help:

I like this channel except for his electrical wiring abilites ;-)

Found this also educational:

That's called the "diesel effect". Oil in the gel evaporates when the bullet passes through it, then explodes as the cavity collapses and compresses the oil vapour (much like a diesel engine, hence the name).

I would guess compression of the air heats it, and fragments from the gel block burn. Much like a diesel engine.

Old Texas Instruments Pulse Generator. Works perfectly. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the internal structure. Beautifully built.
You are with that outfit?
I did not read. Here you lose the overview :)

I also have one, and am strangely reluctant to part with it.

But would it actually be necessary for a burial there ATM? Perhaps a cremation would occur :(

That might fit in with the current bushfires - but it's not a subject we joke about at the moment.

It did earn me a small serve of "the look" from SWMBO, but this one is too big to take up residence where my 12RU unit currently sits (which no doubtedly saved me from a bigger serve).  Not sure where it's going to end up.

But I have it...  It's mine!   ;D

Quite; hence the :(

We realise it has to be bad, since it has reached mainstream news over here.

Has reached here as well which is surprising considering how "self absorbed" our news organizations typically are.

Still trying to work out a cheap enclosure for mine. I think I’m actually just going to bolt a couple of Hammond boxes and add some feet to it and a 3DP finger protection over the transformer terminals. Leave the back open.  I’ll mount one Hammond as mains in with fuse/filter/switch/IEC socket and another output one with a couple of power poles in it.
