Oh, there are some distortions, so instead of taking the 90€ I'll let you have it.

fair enough. Only problem is that I don't have the service manual which would be kinda nice regarding the parts list and the details regarding test points and calibration
and that you can't just disconnect the laser pickup without ESD-toasting it.

and naturally I can't just throw the entire assembly into the ultrasonic without disconnecting the drive first. But I need to short circuit the laser pickup and for that I would VERY MUCH like to have the bloody service manual ...

Sometimes I am tempted to buy things from AliExpress just to see if they are really as bad as they seem.  But I really hate to encourage them.

While this would have been cheaper, I had fun just building my own 3amp LDO linear supply for a pair of GPSDO's and a distribution amp.  Used a MIC29300-12WT regulator, the hard part was distributing the high thermal density.  Used a ceramic TO-220 insulator and added a polished aluminum heat spreader (out of some scrap aluminum plate) and bonded it with high thermal conductive epoxy to the Hammond box.  I wanted a super clean dedicated source that ran cool for 24/7 operation, and it came out great. I didn't document it very well, I just tossed it together.  Need to pull it out as it sits behind my DSO and see whats in it.

I couldn't even get the (torroid) transformers needed for an 1U enclosure , for the price of these guyzz.
So i guess i need a higher cabinet now.

My problem is that Mouser/Digikey/Farnell etc.. adds a lot to shipping & VAT (Customs)  , so i don't buy there.

But i'll give the MIC29300-12WT a read ... Whats the ripple on that guy ?

Still trying to work out a cheap enclosure for mine. I think I’m actually just going to bolt a couple of Hammond boxes and add some feet to it and a 3DP finger protection over the transformer terminals. Leave the back open.  I’ll mount one Hammond as mains in with fuse/filter/switch/IEC socket and another output one with a couple of power poles in it.

Mine are closed on 3 sides , doesn't need any extra housing , just something simple.

Needs added two brass screws, two bits of brass shim and some wire to make it work.

I'll bet one pack of Gummibears (Haribo) that it'll work out. And will burst into flames after 10 seconds or so.

You can surely make. Whether it will be usable is another question.

I'm sure it is very useful, with a compelling USP as an "I speak your voltage" machine.

All you hat to do is connect it to a PC to capture the reading, then upload that to a cloud IoT service using (say) IFFT, then get that to send the reading to the bluetooth speaker.

What could possibly go wrong?

Thanks, unfortunately they do not have the OMS 2-manual. the OMS20 is a completely different animal.
