I wholeheartedly agree. I never understood why my colleagues insisted that 'd' for delete (or 'dd' for delete line) where hard to remember. SHIFT-CTRL-Numpad-7 for delete line is so much more mnemonic ... 
vi is a true object oriented editor. It's just that you name the operation before the object. 

Nah. That would simply be Polish Notation. I prefer to gather all the objects into the right place, then specify the operation: RPN.

Well, impatient little me got a bit twitchy, so the 3478A is back together...

My painting efforts were less than perfect - but I think decent enough for a daily drive bench meter


Still have the side inserts to fit.  Unfortunately, it didn't come with the top insert.

That front frame looks like new -no, better than new! 
What finish type is the paint? It doesn't seem to be matt..?

The paint is a satin silver.  It's a bit shiny for my liking, but I've tried some ideas on a test piece and once it has hardened up a bit, I will probably try running something like a fabric along to give more of a brushed look.

The finish only looks perfect because you can't see all the little blemishes that I can.  I'm not too fussed about them because it's going to be a working meter.  I just wanted to clean it up and that went too far.

It's missing one of the rear feet and the top insert.  Would be nice to get those, but I won't fret about that.

Yea, vi is my go-to on my Linux box here when it comes to edit config files, scripts and other smaller files.

Nobody has mentioned nedit (nirvana editor) yet, so I do:

A nice editor for GUI operation in my opinion.

Wrote my seminar papers and pre-diploma paper ("Studienarbeit") with it. -C-code*, shell-scripts* and LaTex-code.
BTW, LaTex: Didn't see what I'd get, but what I got looked very god in regards of typesetting.   

Had to write my diploma thesis with MS Word though.   
PITA.

In fact, the code I wrote worked despite being a student of EE rather than because.   
On the other hand: I've come across code written by software engineers over the years that was worse than what I'd claim my abilities are.   
Software and Engineering don't go together in one phrase IMHO.

Looks like that will give him the clearance he needs. 

Interesting.

There is another BNC on the other side of the power socket, but it is a little further away and that plug looks to have a shorter and narrower strain relief.

I think that could work.

Well I've got his home address already from a grey hat source. I'm not going to post it on here but will refer it to Ofcom and the police.

This is actually a criminal act (ofcom are already jumping on people) and he should be prosecuted for it. I suspect that they're building case evidence against him at the moment anyway. I'm sure a few YT syndication links will help that case.
