Did they also only succeed in raining shit upon the landscape as well?  :-DD

I'm not going to say too much about this place yet, for it is early days. Even the shiniest ball can be made of the stinkiest poop.

"Stop ship meetings" "Task Force Meetings" And anything else possible to hinder finding the right solution.  :palm: Yes, in essence a total shit storm.

Oh yes smells familiar. The favourite one for me, experienced recently, is "crap slinging monkey face saving meeting" where they just get everyone loosely associated around a table and insert a random PM who is already considering jumping off the office already and has to try and shave off more days from the deadline that just sailed past at a significant fraction of c. No one will budge because of the layers of organisational and technical debt have built up through mismanagement for years, no one wants to pay that debt off because it means admitting it to their seniors and everyone is so risk averse because the people who were decent pissed off leaving anyone who remains with no knowledge of how anything actually works. That is other than a confluence instance populated entirely by demotivated and damaged leavers. Eventually a developer comes up with a unicorn solution which means applying more sticky tape and string and everyone hinges their hope upon that. Rinse. Repeat.

One of the better points about HP was that if I had been promoted six times I would have been CEO. The reasons the intervening levels were there were obvious and sensible.

ISTR that IBM had 14 layers.

The only management book that is worth the paper is "Up The Organisation"

And this one. Today's Itty Bitty Morons has wandered so far from these basic principles that it's almost unrecognizable. And the idiots at the top wonder why the company just putters along.

Edit......used to be that every newly promoted manager got a copy and was required reading. I still had my copy up until they "retired" me in 2009. I left it in the desk.

I’ve actually got two at the moment and I can’t do either of them  :-DD

I’m mostly working on “administrative shit” at the moment  >:(

In the decent companies I've worked in, the decent middle managers have been adept at umbrella management deflecting seagull managers.

I've always thought that to be a joyless way od spending your life :)

You never worked for IBM, did you? Whenever there's a problem they appear in massive flocks.  :o :-DD

Holy shit man, thats a fucking load of managers  ::)

On other notes:

today I've sniped ten of these LT 1031CCH, also known as LH0070
That are 10V voltage references. Pity, it is the C-version with 15ppm drift. The B-version has a drift of 5ppm.

for seven Euro/piece.

Even AliExpress is more expensive  :-DD

added the datasheet

No TE here for the rest of the week. Our Thanksgiving is Thursday and tomorrow evening the Lady Cop is arriving. Just Her and I to celebrate this year. Keeping it low key.

I rather like my 34410A. The advantage is that it can simultaneously display statistics such as mean, std dev, min, max.

One strange use of the min/max is when measuring the AC waveform out of a sig gen in a different way. Using the fast sampling speeds on a not-too-high frequency waveform gives the peak-peak value, and from that the RMS value can be calculated.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

From Tony's perspective, the biggest disadvantage of this thing is:

It is not a counter.

Most service manuals since around 2000 are all FRU swapping only so it's difficult to nail down any particularly worst manufacturer. Keysight went down that route as well.

I'm 99% sure it an infrared illuminator for CCTV. One filter missing. Inferred may be miss-spelling or autocorrect for infrared.
One filter missing. It's not worth £40 never mind £400 now LED ones are available.

My HP cup was lost by USPS. Please observe one minute of silence with me.
I am a little sad, it was a wonderful piece of electronic history somehow.

It will never come back.

*salutes and hums a dirge on comb & paper kazoo*

Let us hope the dearly departed eventually finds a good home once that particular dead-letter bin goes up for auction.  ;)
