If the switches were good, I'd buy one and swap out the resistors.

I can't believe the switches will be any good at that price. I am tempted to get one to investigate though.

I suspect they will be plain brass contacts with some highly inappropriate lubrication (if any) that causes extremely inconsistent results.

Maybe brass plated aluminium lubricated with lard.

You know, there *are* people around here that offer quality  decade boxes (from a slightly older vintage) around here, right?

Inside is a PCB and the switches are made of the copper traces of the PCB and copper sliding contacts with possibly "some highly inappropriate lubrication".

One in worse condition sold last week and made nearly double the start price of that one. Someone please outbid me as it's only a 10MHz counter.

That was EXACTLY what I was thinking would be in those Chinesium bricks. Voltage capacity in the low dozens, I'm certain.

Yes, a nice display like this, on my first frequency counter. Picked it up for £5 at a hamfest. I've since got a nice reciprocal counter and a (14 digit?) "frequency microscope", but nothing as pleasing as these glowing dots.

I have one of the 34740A DMM displays one like that, with the 2802A thermometer input module, warning contains a Sprague 109D.



Also have a broken 34750A with damaged DMM input module (circuit board split).

It likes it's local climate, so they stay well conserved here... we have more rain then UV and most of us keep them dry.

The water cooling system seems to have survived its little stuck solenoid incident, but as my running of it up to now only was a test run before wintering, I'll still go ahead and take it offline, so I can fit a proper expansion vessel to it.

I got your PM and I have your name/address just in case.

I have three of the 10X attenuators. However, they are Tek P/N 307-1013-01. You stated in your PM that your 465 has P/N 307-1013-00. I looked at the copy of the manual I have for the 465....above S/N B250000...and it states that it should be P/N 307-1013-01. So apparently there was a change in P/N. What the difference is between the two P/N's I have no idea but I SUSPECT it's nothing more than perhaps a slightly different capacitance trimmer. And I also suspect that the 01 suffix would work fine if you need it.

So hopefully you can resolve the contact issue with yours but if not I will send you one for just the cost of shipping and you can try it. And if that's the case I will test it here on one of my scopes before sending it.

BTW...I checked QService. They are out of stock on the 00 suffix but do have the 01 suffix.

That's a real shame, it's a nice looking meter (I don't share bd's prejudices     ).

Is it still operational, or did the LCD expire as a result?
