For amusement purposes, you all will probably get a kick out of this, then
Yes, that's my living room. I'm crazy and I know it.

That looks like the operating consoles on the Matrix ship. Are you going to let us out of the Matrix Sarge?  :-//

I'll think about it. :P

Lying on the sofa suffering from costochondritis at the moment ffs  >:(

Isn't that the pain you get when you strain the hinges on your wallet as it gets sudden exercise after years of non-use? Also know as Aberdonian arthritis.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

I am, actually. I have chokes on nearly every single wire in here to help with the interference, and I even have three (!!) wireless access points going on. One of them is the starlink router, and will eventually put the dish directly on my main network. In due time! That said though, the noise floor and overall interference is actually quite minimal, and my SDR's/ham radios don't pick up *that* much noise. If anything, I see more interference from my damn refrigerator than anything else  :-DD

Gah screw that defeatism. I was running along next to the river on Sunday and someone clearly in her 80s shot past me going like the clappers.

Temporary funding shortage caused by house juggling. This is now resolved. I had to shelve a fairly huge sum for nearly two months which irritated the cash flow. TE had to take a back seat.

Edit: Things are now back on track and I’ve got enough cash flow to equip myself with lots of new small toys. Unfortunately I was planning to have enough space to equip myself with lots of old large toys. That did not play out. Grr!

Anybody in need of a 1N829A?
I've bought a lot of two diodes from this seller (NAWTS) and they are looking genuine.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/252700801494

Cheaper to buy new ones here  :-//

https://uk.farnell.com/american-power-devices/1n829a/diode-zener-two-terminal-6-2v/dp/1651543

Yes, but when you are located in Germany, one cannot by at Farnell as a private person.
Mouser has them as well: https://www.mouser.de/_/?Keyword=1N829A&bws=1 but for some nostalgic and silly reasons I wanted the ones from Motorola.  :-//
Yeah, perhaps not my smartest buy.  |O  :-DD

No :(. See edit. Stuck with this turd still.

On positive note I have got OR in on Friday to install my 900 meg fibre  :-DD. If it’s going to be a turd it’s going to be a fast turd!

Ah OK, just as well then as you need not try to manage boat anchors and do yourself a mischief like poor Med has.

Little compact light modern ones only then.  ;D
Even in your present condition I'm damn sure you could manage a SSA like Tony has got.  ;)

As mentioned earlier, I was at Lakenheath and Mildenhall all day today, and it felt good to have a camera in my hand for the best part of it, even if the planes are after a while a bit repetitive, but the end results of the fresh air, the lovely roar of the engines and the smell of aviation fuel being burnt are reward enough. I was surprised to see that despite all the time spent on lockdown, I was not as rusty on the panning lark as I thought I might be, even I did spend the morning shooting fast jest in a mode more suitable to slow propeller planes and with an incredibly low shutter speed of 1/250 so my panning was pretty much on par judging by the results  :-+

The big heavies shot in the afternoon at Mildenhall were shot with a much faster shutter speed.

I guess it had to happen sooner or later. UPS screwed up somehow. The Mouser order got to the Kingston distribution center at 04:00 hours this morning but never got out for delivery. Now tracking says tomorrow (Tuesday).  ::)

Edit, I did get the nuvistors via USPS.

Why did the RAF purchase the C17 and the Airbus A400M? Don't they basically fulfill overlapping roles?
