It appears to be part of the 7L13 itself.

If it jams, force it.  If it breaks, you needed a new one anyway...

Yup its part of the 7L13, the 7L12 is double width (as is the 7L5), the other SA plugins are three wide.
PS: Also supports a tracking generator via the LO outputs on that extended bit.

Have not decided yet, if I'll built a resistor decade box or if I'll make some resistor calibration sets.
What do you think?

Cal boxes. Also pick the best MATCHED three and arrange the binding posts so you can use as a Hamon divider.

Mini Lab would be a cool thing but anyone selling them thinks they are a gold centered Unicorn Poo.

Shame this beast is on the wrong coast and it has been "digitized"  :palm: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/leeming/other-electronics-computers/bench-power-supply-bwd-model-242a/1272456970 $2-300 in freight at a guess.....

Power Supply time this weekend

I have seen people trying the 6006. so i ordered the 6018 , 1080Watts  8)

And a new 'Sleep-over' borrow from ELEshop.nl / Eleshop.eu

I got a Riden RD6018 some weeks ago and it is impressive with respect to the price.
Since I‘m sometimes work with power amps I think about a second. I will wait
until they can again deliver all three parts from a european warehouse to avoid the risk
of customs.

There  are rumors that they will come with a dual source PSU.

OK so that's what the infamous minilab really looks like as only seen B&W images of them.

If anyone wants a BWD Wavemaker 170 I'll let it go for $50 NZ + postage.

Little puzzle for you amp nuts
Shed stereo Sony STR-DE-485 after a couple hours starts randomly rattling relays yet with no ill effect on the output.  :-//

Now it's autumn occasionally it goes into Protect mode however after some 20 mins ON and after a power cycle works perfectly fine...until next time. As the thing is top vented I guess there will be a good layer of crud and dust on the PCB so I reckon just some TLC will sort the Protect mode but whaddabout the rattling relay ?

Check supply voltages for ripple. I've seen one diode of full bridge rectifiers failing intermittently, resulting in 50(60)Hz ripple instead of 100(120)Hz ripple. Sometimes the circuit still works then, but if it heats up it starts to fail randomly.

Yes PSU ripple had crossed my mind however the main amp PSU seems to be working fine as it's still driving the 5 speakers without hum or noticeable distortion and able to blast us out of a 4 car garage when Pink Floyd get played and you crank it right up !  :-DD

So check how the lower voltage auxiliary supplies are generated. Might be a separate winding (with failed bridge rectifier) or some nasty dropper resistors from main amp voltage causing local hot spots on the PCB and nearby components failing ...

If it's a single sided board, check for broken solder joints. Mechanical or thermal stress makes them unreliable.

Remember that's the exact same unit I worked on for my brother almost 2 years ago which also had an intermittent protect mode. Never did track down the exact cause. I pulled the main board out and resoldered the output transistors plus any suspicious looking joints, especially in the PSU area. Ran it for several days with no fails. Returned it to my brother and last I heard it was working fine.
An old gray beard with an attitude.

Yeah they generally are SS with lots of bare jumper wires however I'd rather not pull the PCB unless I need to.
It's one of them rainy day jobs when there's not much else on which is hardly ever !

No I didn't but a jog of the memory cells rings a bell. Thanks.
But strange that the random rattling relay has no ill effect on sound or the display...zip, nuthing, nada !
