Recently I'm suffering from TEAS. Especially Spectrum Analyzer Acquisition Syndrome.
I also bought 26.5GHz RF Counter, 26.5GHz RF Power Meter, 26.5GHz RF Power Divider, RF adapters, RF attenuators and much more accessories ... for my precious Spectrum Analyzers.
I need therapy...  :palm:

You also need to change your moniker :)
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

That's his modulation or IF frequency 😂
Whoah! Watch where that landed we might need it later.

In the 60GHz "oxygen hole" band, 5GHz could be his signal bandwidth.

You can, I believe, legally use unlimited bandwidth at a few GHz, provided nobody else can detect you are transmitting. UWB raises interesting possibilities :)

What external mixers do you have?

My Brain is hurting. Chinese made version of a fully open sourced project and the Muppets subbed in 100k 7 bit Digital Pots instead of the specced 50k 8 bit ones |O Wonder why my Smoothieboard isn't talking to the steppers :palm:   Midnight here so a double Scotch and Chocolate for the brain.....

mnem
*distraction-ily*
Sub $3 worth for the two Digital Quad pots but I think a few kicks in the balls might be preferable to reworking the 20 pin TSOP packages by hand  :palm:

LOL... My intent was to provide a momentary amusing diversion from your misery, not to cast it in such sharp contrast.  :-DD

The parts are at least pin-compatible, I hope...?  :o
Yep several alternates with the 'correct' spec  :horse: Ordered 2 for a few pesos and another $100USD+ of 'bits' from Digikey The Tinkerer's Crack Lab Store because - reasons :palm:

There, fixed that for you... :-DD

This fatbike thing is turning into a real money pit too... trying to find a combination of handlebars and stem that actually works is a plucking nightmare. Mostly, just couldn't get enough rise to put my weight back on the saddle, so wrists and elbows getting sore in no time, and I'm too fat to be riding on the pedals all the time, especially with one weak knee. |O
I finally gave up and ordered a 4.5" Stem riser... I'm leery because I understand the mechanical stresses involved involved, but no choice at this point. If I don't completely redesign I'm just not going to ride because constant pain.

I ordered the Delta that is visibly heavier, forged and properly relieved at the transition even though it cost 3x as much. Ouch. Still cheap compared to medical bills if one of the cheapies goes ka-toink right at the sharp 90° transition, and also cheaper than spending all that money on a fatbike I can't make myself ride.  :palm:

400+ notifications for this subject wow..   :palm: But the forum is getting back full steam  :-+  :-+

Picked up a very clean HP 3325A synthesizer last friday. It is now living with its family as shown on the pic.

Back to working condition is now also my HP 5342A 18GHz microwave counter. Bought two parts units to fix it, during the fixing process on of the parts units was the first one to work again  :-DD. The 2nd unit once repaired I gave on permanent loan to a ham radio friend of mine.  All in all I now am running out of space   ::)

Hmm.. could this be TEA?  :scared:

Wilko

I have a 3325B since years and it stays my favourite generator under 10MHz otherwise I use my 8640B.

Yes, Tek 492BP is a cool spectrum analyzer!
External mixers...
Do you mean an external harmonic mixer for the spectrum analyzer, right?
I have two (WM490K 18-26.5GHz and WM490A 26.5-40GHz) for Tek and 5+ (11970K, A, Q and U include duplicates) for HP.

For those who care: Ingenuity flew its first successful test flight this morning; so far a couple stills is all I've been able to find. Hopefully, the post-flight briefing may have some actual video in a couple hours.

Question: Tek Scopemeter THS 720A

any good ? Fair price ? Seller is asking 270€

Batteries: I use "C" NiMhs in mine - modified it to take loose C cells, soldered a wire to a phosphor bronze tab that goes between plus pole of last cell and battery cover. Other end goes to lug on inner charging contact. Obvious mod when open.
If everything is included (special probes, serial port cable, power supply, original bag), the display is still bright and the optocouplers inside didnt drift too much, the price seems okay.

BTW you can modify it to the "P" variant by moving a single 0 Ohm bridge - did that with mine. Now does power analysis (power factor, harmonics levels).

Still excellent if you want isolated scope channels. I love mine for that.

Greetings,

Rainer

I don't need to do that experiment to know the answer: it tastes vile. All whiskey does.

Just finished watching an interesting series of youtube vids last night, from Curious Marc, on restoring and making operational an Apollo Guidance Computer for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission a couple of years back. 27 episodes, and well worth the watch.

some pictures of my THS720A/P:

Battery contact for standard C cells:

1212780-0
1212782-1

Internal battery charging still works. If I need it done in a hurry, I drop the cells into a desktop fast charger.

Jumper modification makes THS720A think it is a "P":

1212784-2
1212786-3
