Oh cool. There's a precise 1 pps signal on pin 8 of the RS-232 cable from the GPSDO. I gotta use that for something.
Egg timer.  :-DD
LOL you simply don't realize I don't eat eggs. So that would be completely useless for me. Now - I could market an egg timer that contains a GPS system, and say it's the most accurate egg timer available on the market. See you gotta use your head. :-+

You're not showing me a down side.  :-DD

I eat lots of eggs, and this is my boiled egg "timer". Painfully simple and zero moving parts; as heat creeps in from the edges, the panel turns black from the edges inward. It never guesses wrong; no matter what size eggs, whatever the altitude, whatever the ambient temp is. I like them where it says "med-hard".

This and some other crusty old stuff from what looks like a ham having a clearout in Chelford:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284448291325

Was hoping to go & collect this today, but my van decided to detach a gearchange linkage again.  |O
BTW the seller is not a ham and is the same person I've been buying from for over a year, some of the stuff has been in good condition, others not so good.

David

Whoops

Seller is confirmed good. I've had a couple of books off him her before.

Corrected that for you.

David
I still think that will all clean up very nicely, especially the handles and side rails.

It should do, more worried about any problems inside with corroded components & the displays, need to find a 3484A to go with it too.

Also bought this pile of crusty mess.

A somewhat uncommon hp 207A audio frequency oscillator, it's like a 200AB but without frequency range switching, i.e. the full audio range with one full turn of the dial. It should be OK, I have a 200CD that was worse condition and that worked once the transformer tapping had been changed to 230V and the plug wired to not electrocute the user.  :o
Searching for info revealed a sold listing for a good condition 207A, that made over €250.  :wtf:

May have been dropped though…

What makes you think it was dropped? I see no evidence of that.  :-//

Shows the rear.  The feet/cord wrap (not sure which it is from the photo) looks cracked and broken on the right side.

I made two (alebit small) single sided layouts today that ended up without the need for a jumper. The larger one is shown below.
Fuck, with that amount of luck, I should have gone out and had a look out for a floozie...  :palm:

 ???

That's a serious job for a 3D printer :)

McBryce.

And probably needs a new screen, judging by the impact damage to the FDD.  :bullshit:
I'm guessing someone took it apart to attempt to fix the dead battery problem, couldn't figure out how to get the circuit board out to replace it & gave up leaving it in bits.

I think the above video should explain why the Yokogawa at work still has a dead battery, but unlike that one it doesn't seem to stop it working, or throw up a cal error.

Just got back from being at North Weald all day and had my data switched off as I have almost used my monthly allocation up, and as soon as I got within range of my home Wi-Fi, the phone went crazy with all the new incoming emails etc, and it seems as if I have snapped myself another Fluke 85. The seller is new to eBay, listed it badly and attempted to photoshop the photo to remove his hand from it. I won it for £10.57 delivered, what could possibly go wrong?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fluke-85-Muiltmeter-/353658340226

I asked the seller if they had any better photos of the front and he sent me this photo.

My guess is stolen... cross your fingers when you register it with Fluke!   :-DD

Yes that's also immediately what I though !  On our local website here we have a constant stream of NIB or prety much, FLuke gear !
Every one of those ads look shady, they all scream " I am drug dealer wannabe 15yo but I am starting small, for now I just steal stuff from shops and artisans vans ! ".

It's tempting but I don't want to see these low lifes prosper, so I made a point never to buy anything from them. If that means passing on a good deal well so be it. Principles are more important to me than getting a deal on some piece of gear....  :-//

It looks as if you might well be right, the meter should have been delivered last Thursday, nothing at all turned up. Contacted the seller and also opened a claim with eBay, so the seller now has messages from me and eBay but no reply back so far in 4 days. Turns out that the scumbag has not profited from this at all because under the new eBay rules, they hold the payment until they get confirmation that the items been dispatched, and furthermore, when there is no history with the seller (zero feedbacks) they will not release the payment until the buyer confirms receipt and there are no issues with the item, so I understand. That means the seller should not be in receipt of my payment, which after this Friday should be returned to me.

Nahhh. Just looks like to me like the usual synthentic rubber rot endemic to this family; I think it's the same stuff as Philips/Norelco usedta use on their shaver cords that flaked away and self-stripped after a decade or so. I have two 2465s in my Closet of Doom look like this, and only one with both wraps/feet intact.

Proposal to develop Insulin sensor submitted to the powers that be.
Now need to forward this to our CEO thru channels just in case some midlevel management critter decides that it's too much work to take a stand ...

This would be an insulin sensor that could be used in a personal device? That would be a game changer for diabetics!

yes, exactly.
If you asked me before, I would have said to have seen such a thing somewhere before. Assuming that Saskia did her research and that AL is also current in such things, I'm a wee bit astounded now.

I can imagine an use for devices such as those. They would be exactly the thing after which a pervert tasked with the training of repair and mainenance technicians would search.
