A miracle....

I tried the /56 prefix DHCP Ipv6 on my WAN.
It seems to work.
I created two LAN /64 with prefix 0 and 1 as Tracking interface.

Did the ISP understood something about IPv6 in 2022?

Still trying to understand DHCPv6 Server/RA, do I need it in a Tracking interface? mah...

Next step DDNS with IPv6 holy cow it is a steep learning curve...
There's your problem; cows (holy or otherwise) are not IPV6 compliant. You have to stick them all on a IPV4 subnet and NAT the living hell outta them...  >:D

I don't know... charging it fully and properly, woudl tak e14 hours... like any NiCd battery.

At 50mA I was fast charging it, pushin it, just to give it a quick shot see if there was still life in it in some way...

But charging it completely, would need to do it properly, so 14 looong hours at C/10 ie at 110mAH that's 11mA for 14H.
That's also what's written on the battery itself.

So I would have to time it so as to not overcharge it... OK I guess I can make an effort an keep track of start and stop time.

Just dug out my old NiCd charger ! Maybe I can just that instead...

We are on EEVBlog so before doing anything I tore it apart of course !  ;D
Oh boy it looks middle age crude in there !  :scared:
A transformer, single wave rectification and a current limiting resistor and that's it !

Plugged the battery in there and scoped the voltage across it... see for yourself.

Single wave indeed, and peaks at 12.5+ Volts !  :scared:

this crude pulsating voltage, that's torture, should be illegal ! How did law back then allow for these things to be sold at all ?!  :-\

so... looks like my lab power supply is two order of magnitude more refined than this charger eh ?
At least it's proper DC I am feeding the battery with, and I can control the current.
Well, kind of... it's a basic analog supply not a fancy HP/Agilent microprocessor haunted supply.
So I don't have great control over the current, in the low end. If I set the pot to the minimum, it will still give 40mA or so, or 75mA.. depends on the output voltage it appears.
I guess I can add a series resistor to get to the required 11mA.
Would be so nice to have fancy PSU where I could just set it to say 15Volts and limit current precisely to 11mA or whatever, trusting that it would stick to that no matter how the output voltage varies.
One day, one day....

EDIT : stupid me... there are two 9V slots in the charger. I plugged the battery in one, but was scoping the other/empty one !  :palm:
So the waveform was for an open circuit condition !
Now I am scoping the proper slot and I see DC with negligible ripple, and it tops at 10.3V or something now, ie the battery voltage I measured prior. So all seems well... letting it charge overnight, wrapped in a fire resistant blanket, floating in a large bucket of water, and smoke detector next to it. Have an IR camera with AI monitoring activity. If anything fishy is going on, I will get a text message on my smartphone.

Your bench charger is a better tool for this task .set the voltage to about 12 V and current to 10 mA put the battery on small plte or in a mug "just in case" and let it charge for >15 hours. Check voltage immeditely off-charge and off-load. Leave it with nothig connected for 12-24 h and check voltage off-load again. Report back. Ni-Cads like to be stored discharged so it might come back to life.

Why doesn't it start by ' B ' / Beaverton ? US scopes made it to Europe, but an European scope making it to the US sounds weird / backwards... hell I don't think I ever found out what the '0' plant code corresponded to ?! Was that US then ? But why not use B like all the others ?! I am lost...

Was there ANOTHER manufacturing plant in the US ?!

It's about time I learn about it ! :-[

The 'B' prefix must have come later - I just looked at a few of my older ones (310, 310A, 506, 531A, 545B, 561A, 575s) and all have straight numeric serial numbers.  The 561B has a 'B' prefix, as do the 434 and 465B at a glance.  FWIW.

Good Day,

that's easy. This Type 515 simply predates Tektronix' international sites, i.e. the locations in Heerenveen/The NL or in Guernsey/Channel Islands See https://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/Category:Tektronix_buildings

   Temporary IPv6 Address. . . . . . : 2600:6c5e:4c7e:1300:3ddc:429f:edcc:9cb7

Yes, that address is a public v6 address too. And your prefix would be 2600:6c5e:4c7e:1300::/56

My cheat-sheet-app ("sipcalc" -- is on places like /usr/ports or an apt-get or in this case Homebrew) says:

Network range      - 2600:6c5e:4c7e:1300:0000:0000:0000:0000 -

I have 2 off /48 blocks, one from Hurricane Electric, one from my colo provider. I'm moving away from the HE block because HE has such a horrible reputation that I get hit by Cloudflare dDoS protection and visual puzzles / CAPTCHAs all the time. Also, the block was once registered to a Russian software company, which means all GeoIP-lies are worse than usual. And that is some achievement.  But I'm going to keep the block, just not use it except for reserve connectivity.  A VRF will be implemented so I can separate routing out -- I've had some less than stellar results trying to push traffic from one of the blocks through the other transit. That ain't gonna work well..

10 lb picnic roast. All sides seared and seasoned; the usual suspects play their usual role. ;)

Now on a bed of frozen stir-fry veggies (broccoli, carrots, green beans, sugar snap peas, water chestnuts, red bell peppers, onions) and in the oven at 275°Frankenfurter until the veggies start to cook. Then covered until core reaches 165° and finish uncovered to 170-180°.

EDIT: Pinged him via SMS; he got a reprieve from SWMBO in the form of "get the snow cleared so you're not keeping the neighbors up til 1AM". He says he now has a replacement pump on hand and is currently in the collecting tools and putting the boots to his own rearend stage.

I was busy fixing something that wasn't broken. (my router config)

In other news: We've got covid, all of us. Am very happy that those eligible got our shots. No-one is beyond mancold/flu in seriousness. It feels like a bad case of season flu, so most likely is Omikron and not one of the old ones.

Currently hoping that my parents (who I met last this saturday, when we had, unbeknownst, the virus in the family.) will be able to cope. They have gotten their 3rd shot, and are very careful, so there is hope.

Edit: And the anti-vaxers go: "It's just like the virus targets us. Illuminati 5G indeed!"  (In Sweden, the data says that adults between 16 and 60 are 21,1 times more likely to end up in ICU if they get covid and aren't vaccinated.)

FedEx has been juggling the HP 5340A.  The initial arrival date estimated by eBuy was this coming Monday, based on the fact that it was being shipped via ground.  Thing is, it's coming from New Jersey, basically a state-and-a-half away.  That night I got a notification it would arrive on Wednesday, perfectly reasonable if it was shipped immediately as NJ is normally an overnight for ground shipments, but I didn't seriously expect it would be that fast.  Of course, no joy yesterday.  Last night, another notification that it would instead arrive today popped up.

Now to the tracking history.
FedEx got their hands on it in Moonachie, NJ at around 1815 on Tuesday the 18th.
It was "picked up" in South Hackensack, NJ at 2000 on the 18th.
It arrived at South Hackensack, NJ at 1940 on the 19th (?? - did it take a ride to nowhere and back?)
It left South Hackensack at 2158 on the 19th.
It arrived in Middletown, CT at 0245 on the 20th (this morning)
At 0339 this morning, it was flagged with a delivery exception for an unreadable bar code label, which was allegedly replaced.

And there it sits, no further updates since.  Perhaps it will make it here tomorrow...  Shipping something from basically one state away shouldn't be this complicated.   :palm:

I assume the 5340A came from AllTest? FedEx has always been very prompt to me. Overnight. And of course AllTest packed it to withstand a nuke.  :-+
