MSO5000 can't do 500MHz!

Hi,
My MSO5074 with option BW07T3, without any hack of model number has a -3dB bandwidth of about 620MHz (Ch.1@100mV/div).
Measured with a signal generator R&S SMIQ03B, an external 50ohm feedthrough (Radiall R405005) and a Radiall cable.
The diagram below is compensated for cable losses (measured separately with a power meter) :

FYI, Rohde & Schwarz SMIQ03B is a serious bit of kit ;)

It's such a serious bit of kit that we didn't need to be told it was a serious bit of kit
BE HONEST NOW.... LOL
You just wanted to show off your Rohde & Schwarz :-DD
But i guess you've earned the right haven't you.
MAY THE SCHWARZ BE WITH YOU

Would need to win a good contract to justify that to the boss, wife etc.
Must read about it. Thank's for giving me T.E envy Michel.
We might have some competition for the Marconi here BTO.

Yeah but it looks like it'll be close
In any case.... WE ARE ON THE CORRECT TOPIC
so i would happily invite a test-off between the Marconi and Rohde & Schwarz
IF THEY HAVE THE BALLS TO GO HEAD TO HEAD THOUGH :-DD
But seriously.. i would genuinely like to see the differences between them in side by side testing
if they'd be up for it

Yeah, i'm currently in the process of testing that....
Changing mine from MSO5074 to MSO5954
BTO:
I'm Curious
MSO5000 does not have BODE ANALYSIS.
But in this video is suggests that somehow it's possible
My question is......
Do you reckon it's possible to perform Bode Analysis without the actual Bode Analysis Function in the scope
passenger54321:
MSO5000 has bode analysis with the internal signal generator (25 MHz).
See lower left icon -> Bode Plot.
It sees bode plot always as difference between two signals (else, how could it do phase?)
If you need higher frequencies, then how to sync an external signal generator?
Also, which is the reference? Or, do you just 'trust' the external signal generator for linearity?
-> you could use an external signal generator, a splitter -> one output to the MSO5000, another to a
high-bandwith-oscilloscope. Then, control the instruments via SCPI and draw your own plot with a script.
