TinySA Sweep sync pulse
« on: November 27, 2023, 12:16:29 pm »
Hello,
For those having or considering a TinySA device and didn't notice this feature, I discovered by chance that the sweep function available when the device is configured as signal generator in the Low speed port,  can have a sync pulse to help triggering a scope.
The pulse is emitted by the High port every time the sweep is restarting in the Low port. This may be helpful tuning radio IF transformer cans for instance.

After noticing this, I did a little search and it looks this was implemented in a recent fw (I'm running 1.4-128) and in theory is activated using "config->more->high pulse" check box, but at least in my device, an original TinySA, not the Ultra version, it seems it's always active while the the sweep is on.

Thanks for the hint!  :-+
And as I've just updated my TinySA: Since the update from 2023-11-25, modulation frequencies < 50Hz now also work.

TinySA (Not Ultra) 25 Nov 2023 firmware.  Pulse from High Output:

In Signal Generator Mode, RF from Low Output and Sweep on, the pulse is always output from the High connector.

In Spectrum Analyser mode, the pulse is present or not according to the menu setting.
