TLA602 hard drive faliure
« on: March 05, 2022, 05:05:22 pm »
I have a TLA602 which has been working just fine for me with windows 2000 and version 4.4 of the analyser software. I have found all the original manuals and paperwork but not the "recovery" cd roms  :(

Unfortunately the 21 year old 20gig travelstar 2.5inch hard drive has failed (not really a shock) Before It failed i have taken a backup image of the drive.

I have replaced the drive with a 30G SSD (kingston mSATA in 44pin IDE converter) and put the image on it.

Unfortunately I simply cannot get windows 2000 to boot without a "inaccessible boot device" error (except in safe mode which is not useful) I have tried all the "repair" options but seem unable to make this work.

I have managed a completely fresh install of windows 2000SP4 on the drive but not managed to get the drivers/software to run on this install (it is not the tek branded version, does this matter?).

I noticed gslick was kind enough to provide an image of the old 4.4 install media to Enforcer in the 2020 https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/tla614-hard-drive-crash/

Does anyone have the "Tektronix Logic Analyzer Family Application Software, Version 4.4, part number 063-3487-03, CD-ROM" mentioned in that thread and is willing to let me have a copy?

Or alternatively a suggestion of how to obtain a working software install on this system, I know its old but it worked great for what I needed and anything newer is simply beyond my budget.

AFAIK you can download the software from Tektronix' website.

The TLA software package also includes the drivers but you have to install these manually.

perhaps I am just missing something but I used the https://www.tek.com/en/support/product-support page and gave it TLA602 as a model number but all that is there in the software section is a utility and application, neither of which is actually for installing the software on the unit?

Strange, I can only find version 3.2 or version 5.1 or later on the website right now. If you PM me your email, I can send you a ZIP with version 4.4
