I finally got one. As a quick first impression, I’m unpleasantly surprised by the sloppiness of the cosmetic execution. The lettering on the faceplate is tilted – not much, about 2 degrees, but still annoyingly conspicuous.

One of the fixtures that came with it looks carelessly assembled as well.

Although none of these issues are functional, they are still worrisome. It’s still a $1100+ meter (shipped) and, honestly, I expected Tonghui to care a little bit more about appearance.
Nothing else is obviously wrong with it, but I only did a few quick measurements, which seemed fine. Still going through the online manual…
Has anybody else had a similar experience with Tonghui? Are there counterfeits around? Is this what they generally deliver or should I be worried?
I bought it new on Amazon (US) from a vendor in China (not expected to be an authorized dealer, but the item was declared “returnable”). It came in what seems to be an original box, sealed with tape marked “Tonghui”, with two stickers showing the S/N on the outside of the box (matching the S/N on the sticker on the LCR meter), a laser-printed calibration certificate (in English) with values measured for each range and no other inserts (the pictures on Amazon also show a CD, some leaflets, desiccant packs, and something that looks like a manual or a quick guide - none of which were included with what I received). Overall, despite the missing small items ("open box"?), it seems legit to me, but I could be wrong…
