Title: Training signal bug in Keysight DSOX1000 series?
Post by: beuford on October 22, 2017, 05:22:18 am
I recently purchased a Keysight DSOX1102G. I really like it; it's a lot of bang for the buck. However, while playing with the training signals I encountered a glitch and I was wondering if this is "normal" for the unit.

The issue is a repeating glitch in the modulated AM training signal. The pictures below show the glitch as an aberration in every other modulation cycle. The cursor information for the X axis is correct for the spacing between the glitches. Successive pictures zoom in on the glitch.

Can someone try this on their unit to see if it is normal?

Thanks,

Beuford

that's the training signal: how to set up a trigger to catch the glitch

JPortici is correct. I have a 3000T series cro, have just checked, and the signal is very similar.  It's a training signal, a simple AM signal would be fairly boring :)

Funny... the manual doesn't mention this for the modulated AM wave form. However, the training menu does include *other* wave forms that are specifically described as containing a glitch.

Congrats on the new scope! I can confirm that this is an expected behavior, you can even see a shot of it on page 8 of the data sheet :).

If you're looking for a clean AM modulation, you can use the built-in waveform generator.
