TS3022S Power Supply Services Manual Here
« on: March 08, 2013, 09:25:50 pm »
I got one of these supplies from KJDS on Ebay. When it arrived ( very well packed and quick delivery) i tested it and all was well with it.

Except...

The Voltage meter readings are very slightly out, Current was perfect! But me being me, wanted to adjust this. So had i quick blind play with the pots inside and could not manage to change the Voltage readings, only the current.

So the search for the service manual started. Anyway after a long hard search for "TS series service manual" i gave up the search. Later i thought i would have a look on the net for other service manuals for supplies that might be similar and found the " TTi 'S' series service manual". This turned out to be the manual for the actual power supply i have.

WTF ?? Why don't they name these things properly!

So for anyone looking for this service manual it is here to save you the pain i went through.

Enjoy.

I also got one, and powered on quickly but didn't test voltage accuracy yet. Love the lack of fans, current adj knobs are bit coarse and maybe I'll replace those 2 pots.
I need to replace the plug with a schuko, since the adapter I have (for a battery charger) doesn't have ground connection, and I don't find that safe for lab use.

Kjds, I sent a message on eBay: did u get it? I'll check the manual now, which should give me the answer about protection with a non fused plug.

oops, I thought I had replied to your message but obviously hadn't.

Apologies.

Let me know if the manual doesn't tell you what you need.

Plug changed and voltage measured. It's quite accurate for both outputs, about 1% higher than displayed. I'm not using any load (I don't have one nor plan to buy one). I'll check the schematic with a friend and decide if I want to attempt to calibrate or just set a little lower voltage to get it right ;)

Did I say that I love the lack of fans? :)

The service manual linked above describes how to tweak the pots to get the calibration spot on. It's the first couple of pages of the calibration section.

@KJDS

Does the Thurlby Thandar TTI PL330DP have fans ?

The UG is here : http://tti1.co.uk/downloads/manuals/New%20PL%20&%20PL-P%20Series%20Instruction%20Manual%20-%20Iss%2010.pdf

Haven't found the SG

Well wonder if the PL-310 guide i found earlier also works for the PL330 ? ... It has PL-320 written on the frontpage also
Nope ... Doesn't seem to contain the 330

I suppose you have conected the sense wires (or bridges) ??
It seems like (photo) the sense bridges are included.

I bought a used PL310 that were slightly off , but seller had "lost" the bridges and prob didn't know what they were used for.
After installing a couple of wires , it was doing quite nicely.

There are no fans in the PL330DP. I've still got a couple of DPs left should anyone want, but once they've gone I suspect I won't get any more.

Yes, and they were included.

I will eventually calibrate it later but for my current needs (10 to 20V @2A) actual values are perfectly fine.

Hello dimlow,

The link you provided for the service manual is dead...

Would it be possible to upload it again somewhere please?

It would be very much appreciated...

Thank you...

Hello dimlow,

The link you provided for the service manual is dead...
Try this:
http://www.schematicsunlimited.com/t/tti
If that fails, try searching for TTi S Series, or Thurlby S Series.

I think that one might be in the "TTi don't give service information out any more other than a few sheets of basic info" territory. Still trying to screw a proper service manual out of them for my TF930.

If you phone them up and ask or send them an email they usually send service manual out if they issue one.
