TTi MX100TP triple power supply teardown and review
woody:
Another new firmware appeared for this supply. V1.06.
Solves a problem with flickering leds that I never noticed in my device.
Robaroni:
I have to say that this supply has been on my bench for several years now and has worked very well even after I pushed it to its limits many times.
Black Phoenix:
What a beast. The PSU I always wanted but never had the work to justify it. Or the finances to buy.
woody:
Yep, I am pretty chuffed with it. It is a really versatile supply. The other day I needed +- 50V to supply an old and broken Quad 405 amplifier module. No problem for it using all three outputs. Current is then maximized to 1.5A but that was plenty for my needs as I was more interested in limiting the current to a sensible level while measuring.
A year ago I needed a lot of current for a project and got its bigger brother, the QPX750SP. Also a neat beast, as you can be very flexible due to the Powerflex feature. For now I am done buying supplies, as I also have to eat :)
MarkL:
Thanks, woody, for pointing out the new firmware for the MX100T/TP.
There also new firmware for the MX180T/TP, which covers the same fixes plus a "sync issue" when using the OP and OPALL commands.
I have the MX100TP and MX180TP and never saw any of the fixed issues. It's nice to see they're still actively developing (e.g. QP series) and supporting these models.
