Two devices in one bag.
« on: December 31, 2024, 06:09:29 pm »
Hello everybody,
I was recently given two devices bought at LIDL. A multimeter and a current clamp from the manufacturer PARKSIDE.
They are very similar in specifications, but there are also differences in functions and parameters. The current clamp even has more functionality than the multimeter. They essentially complement each other, that is, if you put them in a bag together, they will solve most of the necessary tasks in measuring the main parameters, servicing and repairing various electrical and electronic devices.
Specifications.
I did some tests. Both devices showed honestly 0.1 Ohms.

Good Morning Iet,   Depending on the price, it looks like you got quite a deal.  After playing with them for a while, put them both back in the bag and put the bag in your glove-box, so you always have them at the ready for when you are away from home.  Unless, of course, you have no other test equipment; in which case you have a good start on equipping a  home lab. :-+

Thanks.
Now I will have two nice things in my bag with a 3-year guarantee.

Looks like the clamp range(s?) of the clamp meter are AC only, so not so useful when working on vehicles.

There is a review and teardown of the other meter at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jLM0S-yKic.  That review is of the C2 version but the C1, C2 and C3 versions are just different production runs which Lidl sold at different times.  I have the C1 and C2 versions, the former has the blob on a daughter board. I  added a USB interface (output only) to my C1 one.  https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/aneng-an8001-6000-count-true-rms-multimeter/msg4336852/#msg4336852

your photo isn't so clear - but if it is a C3 you might want to check the review:

I don't work with vehicles now, so I don't need this mode yet.
Watched the video. The probes are not original, so when shorted they show a resistance of 0.00 Ohms.
Regarding the tests. It is better to show the entire range for measuring resistance, this gives more complete information.
Regarding V, A. I need mV, mA measurements. There is little information in the video. But the video is quite professional, there are worse ones.
The 300 V limit is enough for a single-phase power supply circuit.

Yes, I have C3. Thanks for the review.
I checked the probes of the two devices again. Everything is fine with the probes. When shorted, 0.00 Ohm. That is, their resistance does not affect the measurements. This is good.

I checked the operation of two devices in the mV and mA range. Everything is according to the specification. This is good.
I checked the current clamps in the frequency measurement mode. Everything is according to the specification. This is good.
