Rigol DG811 vs Siglent SDG810
« on: January 20, 2019, 09:17:08 am »
Hi everyone! I wanted to purchase a reasonably-priced signal generator for my home lab and after reading lots of topics on this and other forums, decided to get Siglent SDG810 http://www.saelig.com/sdg800-series/sdg810.htm. I've requested a quote but since it was Friday night I haven't got back from them yet. Meanwhile I found that Rigol released a new low-budget signal generator DG811 http://www.saelig.com/product/dg811.htm. It looks pretty similar to SDG810, although it has slightly bigger resolution (16bit vs 14bit). Has anyone used it before? Is it better than SDG810 or I should stick to a well known option? Thanks!

For another ~$80 the SDG1032X is a far better AWG. 30 MHz, 2ch and hackable to 60 MHz and does sine and square wave to max frequency.
I've sold a good # of 810's but for a bit more and 2 channels the 1032X is a better investment.....if you can spring for the bit more cost.

Oh, and the SDG810 doesn't have LAN.

OK, now I'm confused. Obviously SDG1032X will have more features, no doubts. I wouldn't say that the absence of LAN is an issue for me but a second output channel is a big thing. But when I searched for this model, I've found thins link https://core-electronics.com.au/siglent-sdg1032x-arbitrary-waveform-generator.html. And it says that it's obsolete and has been replaced by DG1032Z which is from Rigol! I don't understand :( I would like to find an Australian supplier as shipping from US costs a fortune.
