D-Q meaning in LCR meter
« on: January 20, 2019, 09:54:17 am »
Hi all,
I recently got myself a new LCR meter which is Uni-t UT612 LCR meter which work absolutely  great   :box:
anyway, since I am new in LCR meter world, I want to know what D and Q mean.
according to the manual, D & Q  are loss and quality factors respectively.

regards

https://www.google.com/search?q=LCR+meter+D+and+Q

... Seems to give some decent hits, although many seem to have quite short non-layman descriptions. But at least this video has Mr. Carlson's thumbs up (in comments):

And then of course, wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissipation_factor
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_factor  (see especially "individual reactive components")

Maybe those can help at least half a step forward.
