Im looking at a used BK389A on ebay with fluke probes for 55! But it doesnt really seem to have as much bang for the buck as the Uni-T UT61E! Yesterday I royally screwed my klien meter trying an experment in the oven.... lets not go there, but the plastic obviously cant handel 170! I have an ExTech but need a second meter FAST the Uni-T seems to do alot and it 20,000@.1% count vs bk 4000@.25... Im not sure which is more accurate obviously the BK, and it saves me money on good probes but its used so who knows really.... Im really leaning twords the UNI just for its frequency measurement and data logging but I cant find a north American retailer Im willing to pay a little more to get it faster. Anyone have a suggestion

The above are great reliable meters you can count on. The Greenlee are rebadges of Brymens. The below is the original Brymen for the Greenlee DM-510A. The seller is our friend here, iloveelectronics, and he takes care of people like no other reseller.

I don't know your budget, but these are far better built and higher quality than the UT61E. If you want all the features of the UT61E and don't want to spend more, then there is nothing better than the UT61E. If you want better quality, better input protection, but lower accuracy and can live without the PC connection, then the UT139C is a really good too.

Well im trying to stay around 75 bucks, I like the count on the uni t and the data logging but most of all the 280mhz frequency range... I have never owned a meter that goes above 1mhz this is super helpfull since I only have a 12bit 25Msample PC scope.... My problem with any of the UNI-Ts even the one you mentioned is there all in hong kong! Is there an american reseller of UNI-T?
I own an ExTech EX430, I was happy with my Klien but not for the price, It still works but the back is melted and wont screw on, ideally I would like to just buy a new back..... back I dont see that happening. I am trying to save for a decent scope either a HanTek or Rigol, I want to get in the consulting business and this is a must!
The thing is there are lots of times when you need two meters, unless you can afford a Gaussian, The UniT seems to have High resolution and good accuracy plus tons of goodies for the price and with some probe tek probes that puts me around 75 bucks. I just dont want to wait a month for shipping from china for a meter, everyone seems to love these for low volt work... I would think someone in America sells them! You can find Brymen resold in the US without the greenlee badge

The reason I ask about the BK is becuase its a US seller and it comes with fluke probes for 55

It has a higher accuracy rating than the Uni and its a trusted name with good leads, and its not the POS model
Acually I found an amercian ebay seller with Uni-T wooo that solves that, so the BK or the Uni T?

The chance that you can actually measure up to 280MHz reliably is pretty low with that meter. I don't know if anyone has actually tested it.
I am not aware of sellers in the US for Uni-T, but I am not omniscient!

That BK looks pretty filthy, so probably not taken care of very well. It also does not do TRMS and does not have a PC connection. I would go for the UT61E instead.
