Title: upgrading LC584AL
Post by: analogRF on September 30, 2017, 02:35:52 pm
I have a LeCroy LC584AL coming in.

What type of GAL can be used for upgrading the scope? I have a bunch of GAL16V8D-10LP.
Can they be used for enabling options? they are rated at 10ns and Icc=115mA which seems high?
How about ATF16V8B-15PC Icc=55mA (instead of BQL Icc=5mA)?

Has anybody tried to upgrade the CPU board on these scopes (from CPU2 to CPU3) to make it like 584AXL or DDA-120?

thanks!

regards

The information on the GAL is on the Yahoo Lecroy group.

yes but not much about the types of GALs that can be used. Apparently any type is OK but I was wondering since ATF16V8BQL-15 is the recommended type and it has Icc=5mA, then a GAL with Icc=115mA may not work.

AFAIK, any 16V8 in a DIP package should work, as long it's fast enough. Not sure of the speed required...
