Title: USB Powered Active RF Probe
Post by: AJ3G on November 15, 2020, 03:12:20 pm
All:

I am running a scope which has no probe power jack. It does however have two USB ports. I wonder if there are any offerings someone could point me to for an Active Probe, which is pre wired for USB connection for DC Power?

Would also be interested in.
But my approach will be a respin of the poor man active Probe design with OPA695 and add a "USB Power supply" input. But hobby build time is short currently

Hi Noy -

Yes there are a few kits and some circuit diagrams of probes which would work. I have yet to find one which is a commercial product, that has been adapted to accept USB power. If it exists, then I am sure someone here knows about it!
