Title: Using both channels on the Siglent SDG2042X
Post by: level6 on January 11, 2020, 03:06:01 pm
I'm looking at possibly purchasing a Siglent SDG2042X

I need to be able to produce a set of simultaneous pulse waves from its two channels that look like this. Would this be possible with this unit?

I would think it would be straightforward.  Define arb waveform for each of the signals, set the SDG2042X to lock the phase of the two channels and it should just output what you show over and over again.  I have not done pulse waveforms like you show but I have done two moified sine arb waveforms at the same time phase locked and it works great.

If you want to just send one cycle out that would get trickier.  Some people have complained they can't trigger both channels simultaneously.  I have not tried to do two Ch one cycle triggered at once.

JDubU - Great thanks for the confirmation! I suppose any other method for creating arbitrary wave forms will work? Waveform Builder looks nice but not an expense I can afford right now.

@ level6
Arb waveforms can be created in EasyWave that is available on the CD that comes with the unit or downloaded from Siglent websites.
